Runners, gosh that rings a bell. My ds was a runner for a short period of time. I bought a harness, but he would cry and cry with it on. I honestly just curtailed my activities some until he outgrew this phase. I also remember having my dh and other friends around several times to help me police him. We also fenced the backyard about this time, which did help.
