I included two different shots of Liam's playspace in the great room - one is the winter shot and the other reflects that we took a playstand to use outside.

If anyone wants to know the red paint was made by Valspar and is called Red Bluff. Apparently they don't make it anymore but I looked for a friend and found that Benjamin Moore Raspberry Truffle is a close match.

I love your house! I love all of the wood and natural light. I also really love the play area!

I put together a little before and after (in progress) set of pics of our house. The complete front yard pics are missing because its only partially done. The basement pics are missing because the toy room is in great need of a good cleaning (why are my children not in there cleaning?? ) and the office/studio...well, lets just say that's dh's space and umm, yuck!

These are all "befores." We are painting and redecorating. I haven't taken pics of the kitchen, dining rooms or bedrooms yet (other than dd's room). Dd's room is, well...a work in progress! It's so tiny and needs to be decluttered, but I haven't had time. I didn't want to go out and purchase things for her room to match until we know what color the walls will be. We are repainting practically the whole house because these are all the existing colors when we moved in.

We have a great room, 3 teeny bedrooms and a bathroom. I will get more pics up soon, but they will show a messy house because we're having a huge yard sale next weekend and things are everywhere!

i don't, but I have the AFM Safecoat swatch book here because I'm choosing colors to paint with and checked to see if there was a match. A very close one is called "Flowing Green" as seen here.

Added even more pics I still haven't taken the dining room, sewing area, or loft bedroom yet. Other than that, you've seen the entire place.

Our style is definitely eclectic and we have a love for antiques. We moved from a 200 year old house, to this new timber frame, solar home built in 2000. So that's quite a difference!

We went from 3,500 sq. ft. to about 1,600 sq. ft. We are having a MAJOR yardsale next weekend and I am constantly going through things to give away or sell. It hasn't been hard downsizing and I find the challenge fun and exciting! The bedroom situation is challenging sometimes. I should post pictures of our other house we moved from: 12 rooms...10 fireplaces...5 bedrooms, 3 baths, huge pantry, storage everywhere, etc. If I get a chance I will put them on flickr if anyone is interested.

I love the fact that dh and I are always together whenever we are both upstairs. Company is fun because we all gather in the living room or kitchen area, but it is such a wide open space that people can be anywhere and we can still chat.

I can see dd wherever I am and I can't lose her like I could've in our other place

We do not want to live in a house that is void of objects and "clutter" because that is part of who we are. We like to collect things from our adventures together and display them in our home. A lot of our things are family pieces we have inherited. My dh had a great aunt who traveled the world and collected antiques from all over. We have a lot of her things.

It's been fun downsizing, and although challenging sometimes, we enjoy it! We do plan on putting a dormer on back of the house (we live in a saltbox) to add about 6 feet onto the kitchen, dining room, pantry and dd's room (where the daybed is) so we can have windows along that side of the house. We want to let more light in to avoid using lights during the day.

Our next plan is to expand the floor of the loft out a bit to move our four poster bed up there (it currently won't fit) and a dresser. Then the purple bedroom (won't be purple much longer!!) will be a sewing room/office/playroom. Right now there is no place for dd's toys.
