I would like to hear some stories about

mamas who went into labor without a lot of pre-labor action... like no mucus plug or show or anything. Just BAM- they are in labor.

I need some uplifting stories here. LOL

That is what happened to me last time. Nothing...then wammmo I was in labor, no doubt about it!

A very good friend of mine who just had a baby a week ago today (her third ) never, ever has braxton hicks that she can notice. She's never lost her mucous plug, she's never had her water break first, or had a backache or been crampy. She simply starts contractions and has a baby.

Three times now!

I don't have any stories - but thanks for asking b/c I would love to hear some!!! I really don't have any signs that labor is approaching - but that doesn't mean I don't hope every day that I will go to sleep (or wake up) with a new LO!!! :P

every pregnancy is so different!
my first i had no signs at all i never lost a mucus plug or anything at all, was 3 days late DTD with dh and 30 minutes late was in labor, water broke about half way thru labor, she was born in 8 1/2 hours!

dd2, no mucus plug, dtd 3 hrs later started with hard contraxs 10 minutes apart for 10 hrs then real labor started she was born in 4 hrs water broke as she crowned

ds, mucus plug for about 3 days in a row, dtd with dh a few nights in a row... dtd again and a few hours later labor! 5 hr labor with him water broke about 3 minutes before he came FLYING out.

I don't know if I'm what you are looking for.

I had a lot of "false labor" throughout the month prior to dd being born, but no plug or show or anything.

I just woke up one morning in labor.

first pregnancy - i woke up with contractions, i lost the plug about an hour later. nothing before the contractions started.

second pregnancy, water broke in the middle of the night while i was sleeping - nothing prior to that.

I just posted my birth story in my LJ. I had no clue that labor was imminent prior to the contractions. I felt I'd go another week or two. While I lost some mucus and had a tiny bit of bloody show yesterday morning, nothing much was in evidence until my plug and water went with a huge pop and a splash just three hours before the urchin was born.

And despite the contractions I experienced yesterday, Ronan did not "drop" until he suddenly went to the 0 position when I was at 7cm. He was riding high all day, squirming AWAY from the contractions, trying to nestle into my ribs.

I had some contractions off and on but other than that just the occasional small piece of mucus and now I am wondering if it was part of my plug or just wishful thinking. The day I went into labor I had NO mucus or blood until I got in the pool and was in transition. Babe was born less than an hour later.

Thank you all ... those are exactly what I needed to hear!!! I need to stop obsessively reading online about mucus plugs and bloody show and inspecting the toilet paper...and just relax.

All 8 of my babies came without any warning. I can be closed with no effacement, and have a baby 8 hours later.

I did last time. When I was in early labor, had a teeny bit of clear mucus with small streaks of red blood but nothing else. Lost a gigantic slab of mucus during transition in the tub, though (TMI?). I haven't had much going on with this baby yet, either and don't really expect to till labor comes. I tend to be one to try and ignore when my body's doing much to gear up though. After my very long first labor with an extra trip to the hospital when I was 2cm, I have a tendency to wait till labor really comes after me to give it any attention.

This hapened to me on the 17th!
I was literally on here asking wow... I have no symptoms besides this cramp like feelings... The ladies here said it was nothing...
I called the doctor...and he said most likely nothing... Then I decided to drive and pay my insurance a 2 minute drive to the other side of town I quickly realized... I was a real labor...LOL

My first baby, I had no signs whatsoever. Never felt a BH. I woke up from a nap (the day after my due date BTW) with something - I thought it was my first BH. Went out to dinner and sat there for two hours, kept feeling stuff but thought it was cramps from needing more water. After dinner, I realized maybe it was more than that so I went to the hospital and I was 4 cm. Six hours of totally manageable labor later, I had a baby.

I'm now 38 weeks (popping over from May DDC) and would love for the same thing to happen this time. I have felt some BHs this time, once I figured out what they WERE, but that's it.

yup with my first and last i got checked the day before they where born and was closed up tight

My mom tells me with me she woke up at 4am in a wet bed..her water broke and she had me at 7:30 am the same day. She wasn't having any BH or contractions at all before then.

Same with my brother, she just started having contractions with no other signs and then a few hours later he was born.

I'm hoping it'll be the same for me. I had BH for every 5 mins for 12 hours on Friday and I really thought it was the beginning of labor. But they went away. Haven't lost my plug, havent had any show or anything. Everyone expected me to go last week, even though my EDD is 4/30.

So I'm hoping that I'll just be like KABLAM! LABOR! Like, today.

The day before I went into labor I was only a fingertip dilated and 10% effaced. No mucous until the day of labor...I dont remember having bloody show at all- must have lost it in transition

that is what happens to me every time, going for a record here.

I just wake up in labor with contractions 5 minutes apart.
I have had my water break first, I never lost my plug, never had any bloody show........all those usual/typical signs.

This is my 6th pregnancy, and I am 37 weeks.

With DD, I was highly mucousy for week 39 and week 40 (she was born at 41w1d), but nothing I would call a PLUG. At 40w2d (my last appt b/4 she was born), I was 1cm. At 41w, I woke thinking, "WOW, that was an intense dream about contractions." And then 15 minutes later, another, and then 15 minutes later, another... she was born at 3 AM the next day.
