Intact, yet ignorant. - Page 2

My son's foreskin is very long too. But if I understand correctly, even stretching of the foreskin opening (tip of the foreskin) is bad because it's supposed to be very small and tight (just big enough for pee to go through) in order to protect from bacteria entering it.

Yes, I think you are right, but I think she was talking about cleaning the overhanging, freely movable skin and not actually pulling back to the point where there is any tension on the opening.

If I can explain a little better.....the part that is adhered to the tip of the glans I don't mess with. But sometimes little bits of "poop" get stuck on the end and the foreskin droops down, catching it in there. I can't very well leave fecal matter in the folds of my son's penis, or bathe him after every diaper change. The overhang slides freely. Like a "loose sock"( DH will love that visual).
DH and I talked about this at great length the first time he changed DS's diaper. Silly me, I assumed as an intact adult, he would know little foreskins don't retract. But this is something I don't supose mothers discuss with their sons. So if he retracted at a young age, I can understand his ignorance.

When ds gets any poo on his I just gently pull out on it away from his body a few times with a wipe. Since I know that stretching it out isnt a issue. But I have never pushed it back toward his body to clean it off. Not even the bit that overhangs because that can damage the sphincter that the tip is made of. DS does have a lot of overhang about 1/2 inch to a inch.
