i really really want to get some stuff done, but i am too big and lazy! it's only my mind that is going into hyper-drive. does it still count as nesting if i assign the chores out to my husband (i'm looking for any signs of changing body - i know, i'm reaching her).

of course, this plan went straight out the window yesterday due to a very surprise and welcome acquisition of a nintendo wii (which i actually am really thrilled with - but DH is REALLY thrilled with it )

I think so, yeah! I made DH steam clean the carpet yesterday for no real reason other then I wanted it done.

Absolutely! There are suddenly a million things I want done but aside from having a nasty cold, I am simply to TIRED and LARGE to do much of anything these days. I do what I can, but the rest I delegate out to dh and ds1.

of course! I made dh hang shelves in dd2's closet and pull some stuff out of the garage for me. If I wasn't feeling really big/sore/tired I would have done it myself, so it counts

it totally still counts...in fact, i woke up yesterday, and was completely obsessing over everything getting cleaned!! i woke up dp after i just couldn't take it anymore, and he willingly got up and proceeded to help me clean the entire house from top to bottom on his only day off

i should learn to delegate more! i had this overwhelming urge to organize the garage on sunday & it wore me out!? kermit had to help me move the bigger things but i worked out there for 6 hrs, on & off. and last week i switched the furniture around in the girls' room. and i've been contemplating painting one more room in the house....this pregnancy i've painted a total of 5 rooms including the 1/2 bath i personally remodeled a few months ago. i've been insane, mamas...absolutely insane!!!!

I've been contemplating hiring a maid for a visit or two.
Anyone know about how much they cost?
Even if I don't get one for me I was thinkning of getting a gift certificate for two visits for a preggo friend. That way she could have someone come once before and once after. I think she'd like it.

I looked into it breifly yesterday, they are about $25/hr where I am. Then I decided that I really couldn't have anyone come in to do what needs doing because it is mostly getting rid of stuff, not necessarily cleaning, so I gave up and started throwing things out.

I DID hire someone to come in a few times before he arrives. Cost depends - some are only $15/person/hr others double that or even more!

I think it's nesting if you are driven mad by a desire to accomplish something and you make sure it gets done - doesn't matter if it's by you!

My darling DH started re-doing the floor in our baby area! Hurray! Progress! I let him pick whatever flooring he wanted (except carpet) and he chose porcelain tiles, which will look really nice, but it seems labor intensive to me. And of course I can't help with it at all. But I do plan to paint in there when he's done, and get new window coverings of some kind. Maybe shades?

OMG, I would LOVE a cleaning person. That would be such a great gift. That and a pedicure. I'm about to splurge on one soon. My feet are so swollen. It would make me feel better if at least the nails were pretty.

I've been doing crazy nesting. Of course I can't do it all so have deligated to others i nthe house. Plus it keeps my two oldest sons(8 and 10) busy so they are bickering, as much anyway.

I would call it nesting if you are the one giving all the orders and have all the "big idea" and to do lists.
