of one handsome little bugger....
Oliver "Olly" Walker Burke
The little boy decided to grace us with his presence exactly one month before his due date on April 22, 2007. He somehow popped his water bag at 7:45 pm on Saturday night, and following an exhausting and often intense 23 hours and 59 minutes, he arrived at 7:44 pm Sunday night, right here in his home with our wonderful midwife, Valerie, in attendance. For those who know the "rules" on water breaking, this guy decided to push his deadline to the last minute, literally. Being a little over 4 weeks early we thought he might need some oxygen, which was on hand, but he came out in wonderful shape, with Apgar scores of 9 & 9. He is 20 inches long, and 6 lbs. 4 oz. Grandma Cheryl came over at the first word of water leaking, and never left our sides.
Izabelle thinks he is "so cute" and can't get enough of him. And even Annika is finding a soft spot in her heart for him, and is very relieved that he hasn't made off with her water bottle or toys yet!
