I need your help!

Ok, so this isn't the end of the world and things could definitely be worse but dh and I cannot come up with a boy name.......and this time we know we're having a boy.

With our first pg we didn't know what we were having but had dd been a girl she would have been nameless.

So I'd love it if some of you could share a boy name you're not using.

Dh's name is Kervin, and dd is Nora Margaret. Paul might be a middle name option (grandpa), but not necessary. We like classic names with traditional spellings but want something not too common. But something that will go with our hispanic last name.

Thanks for any ideas!

If I ever have a boy (which doesn't look like it will ever happen...) I've always liked Miles. It's a family name and seems to show up only as a middle name but I like it as a first name. My friends' ds is Noah. Darn... I have such a hard time coming up with boy's names and those are the only ones I can think of right now.

Hmmm...

We were thinking more along the lines of an Irish or Irish inspired name, but some of them might work...

Owen
Bran or Brandon
Conner
Corbin or Corwin
Lucien
Salvatore (would have been the "mandatory" middle name for a boy in Dh's family)
Matthias
Martin

Have you checked out "behind the name" at http://www.behindthename.com/ ? It has a ton of names and you can sort them by all sorts of things (including their "sound" or "cultural heritage"). It's the only baby name site I've found that actually has my older dd's name!

Good luck! I always found boy's names to be so much harder to pick!

ETA- two of Dh's friends are named Thaddeus and Benedict (they're brothers). But they went by "Thad" and "Ben". So that is sort of classic, sort of unusual!

We're at a loss for a boy's name too. DP and I are all over the place with names. I'll share our "maybe we'll use these" names with you:

Ethan (we're leaning towards this - I think)
Owen
Matthew
Ashton

I also like:

Elijah
Alexander (sis just used this so it's out for us)
Nathan
Josh (DP vetoed this for some reason and I'm mad about it )

Hmmmm.......Thanks for the suggestions ladies. Alexander might be a possibility. And the Spanish form of Matthias which is Matias......although pronounced differently.

We have also come up with Ezekiel(Zeke), Benjamin, and Isaac. Last pregnancy we had thought of Gavin but then had a nightmare experience with a Gavin and had to forget it.......but maybe now that nightmare is fading. Still, none of these names feel like "it" you know? Regardless of what baby looks/feels like. Maybe I'm being too particular!

I'm partial to Alexander, and Ezekiel is a really cool name, I love how it sounds.

I love the name Javier - which will go wonderfully with an hispanic last name, of course! You can also spell it Xavier or Zavier...
