This morning DH leaned over to give me a kiss before leaving for work (I was still lying in bed on my back) and his briefcase which was on his shoulder came down and hit me in the belly. It hit the side-front of the belly. Shortly after the baby was moving all around and had the hiccups for a bit. I don't think I need to call the dr. but what do you all think?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.
Would you be worried?

I'd be worried if I was still experiencing pain or some other abnormal symptom and the baby stopped moving completely for a while. My toddler using me as a kicking bag way too often and I feel assured that the baby is nicely protected in my womb.
Thank you! That is what I was thinking. I'm hoping/thinking there is enough fluid in there to cushion the baby.

As long as the babe is moving around I wouldn't worry. They are extremely protected in there. Whenever I get nervous about something like that I just think of what the majority of women around the world contend with during their pregnancies. We wouldn't have been able to survive as a species if a little bump to the belly did us in.
Still hard to not get nervous though

I've had some pretty tremendous belly kicks from my active DS doing somersaults accidentally into me, and the like. My baby did just as yours did - movement, hiccoughs. All seemed/seems OK. It is very scary though!

Ouch! I hope you're OK! That's strange that so many have seemed to notice hiccups after a bump; I notice I "give" my baby hiccups if I poke at it too much.
