Labor Unions Redux

Most people here are aware of my misgivings about labor unions. Therefore, lovers of irony, or Schadenfreude, will be amused to read that I am now a member of a labor union. Membership is mandatory for my new state government job.

I will withhold judgement for the time being, but I have to say, I'm not pleased about being charged union dues right out of the gate, while I will not get union representation until my probationary period is over.

Oh sweet irony....


Don't worry, it may not be so bad...my dh's union worked hard to get them a great contract. We don't pay a dime (in premiums) for our health benefits. I can't complain.

And when you start causing trouble at work like you do around here they will be there to stand up for you

unions suck. I would only say this to a fellow member of one.
The flip side to it is you could be a postal worker in someplace like, Congo or something. Wait you would probably like that :LOL
