This is my first foray into this forum as I'd hoped we'd never need it! My dd, Ella (3 yrs old), has had a reaction to something today and yesterday and we're trying to figure out what. She hasn't had any new foods and we have no history of allergies our families. Here's what happened -
Yesterday, she had dinner at around 5pm and at 6:30ish, I noticed some small raised bumps on her face (mostly jawline), the entire area was red as she'd been scratching it. I didn't even consider allergies just put some Boo Boo Goo on it and they went away within 15 minutes. When we started thinking potential food allergy, ehe likely culprits seem to be peanut butter or strawberries that she had at dinner.
Today she had peanut butter at 3:30-4ish (at her daycare provider's after I'd specifically told them that we were concerned about an allergy and didn't want her to have any pb or berries...yup, another story on that one) and at 6:30ish she again had the same small raised bumps on her face this time on her cheeks and forehead.
On Wednesday, she did have pb for lunch with no reaction at all.
I spoke to the dr today who had said that reactions could come back so we're not sure if today's is from something yesterday or from pb today.
Both reactions occured right after she'd gotten out of the bath where she does suck on toys in there (they're being thrown out).
I am thinking food allergy and we're going to look into it but I'm confused about the seemingly long period before a reaction - it seem I'd read that a few minutes is normal with up to 2 hours being rare but possible? Do you think she could be reacting to something in the bath?
Neither time did she have any breathing issues or swelling. I really don't want this to be an allergy, esp a peanut one as I find them terrifying.
I'd appreciate any insight!
