Yesterday at work, my DH wowed his fellow employees (all male) with his extensive knowledge of bfing, especially extended bfing. His colleagues were blown away when he said he thought it was perfectly acceptable and good for a four year old to nurse. I don't think those guys have ever heard anything like that, but I'm glad he's so pro-bfing and is not shy about it. At least his work pals will know that not everyone does the 3 mos and you're done bfing thing. Most of them think my DH is a crazy hippie, but whatever! I'm proud of him, and I know my bfing relationship is better because of his extreme support. He's even said before that he's jealous that I get to breastfeed because DS and I get to be so close and bonded. If only all DHs behaved this way!

That's so great! Good for your dh!
My dh told me that at a golf tournament sponsored by his work, one of his coworkers was talking about the prize, and saying that it would buy a lot of formula for his baby. My dh came back with, "My wife nurses, so we don't waste our money on formula. I just feed her a sandwich, and the baby's fed too."
It is so nice when they're supportive.

I love it! My dh is like that too. In fact, when my dd's former ped told me to stop breasfteeding when she was sick and vomiting (which went totally against everything I read), he insisted we switch pediatricians and he personally wants to go into the office and give them current bfing info so they can educate themselves for other patients!
Yay for super husbands!

My DH has said the same thing about wanting to nurse our DS - he wishes he had that 'bond.'
Also - DH made a comment about Sesame Street advertising Earths Best Formula.
The end says something to the extent of "Earths Best Way to Grow!"
He laughed. I was quite surprised he caught it.
