Confessions - Page 2

LOL, exercising? Does getting off the couch to go pee count? I'm jealous of anyone who feels good enough to exercise at this point!!

My only confession is I'm in survival mode; doing anything I can to cope with daily life by myself with my three kids.

Seriously though, the doctors I talked to here and in Denmark said there were no problems with soft cheese. Maybe it is different in the US?
Maybe because you all know what you're doing with your cheeses?!

I am not getting enough fluids!!!

And my poor children are SO neglected. My 5-yr-old hasn't handed in homework in something like FOUR weeks. That's how long I've been REALLY sick, so go figure.

My kids have rarely had a full meal or a vegetable in 4 weeks. They're living off of bananas, bagels, cereal, microwave oatmeal, and other sporadic fruits. Once in a while, boxed organic mac n cheese, which isn't much better than the regular stuff, and homemade pizza bagels.

I've also been making them do this dishes (load and unload the dishwasher) for two weeks. But I did decide this week I would pay them each $1 a week and they think that's cool. *snicker*

I stopped taking my prenatal because it made me feel really, really, REALLY sick. I feel guilty but I'd rather not be nauseous 24/7. I'll ask my midwife about alternatives on Tuesday...

I have been eating Starburst and Pop-Tarts only for the past 3ish days because I keep getting violently ill from anything else.

.
When I was expecting DD I just could NOT have prenatals. The days I dared, I vomitted them right after anyway...
So don't feel guilty! Sometimes morning sickness is just too nasty!
Have you tried eating cold fruits? They helped me... I would put some plums, nectarines and such in the fridge and eat them. But it all depends on what YOUR body is asking
ALSO: my midwife told me last time that if you try to force yourself to eat some protein in the morning, you will be amazed at how much better you will feel! I know - the LAST thing morning sickness moms want is eggs and bacon! Also, as bad as it sounds, you have to keep nibbling - if you let yourself get hungry you get sick, then you cannot eat and get worse, and it the vicious cycle keeps on going. It worked wonders for me! I wish I had known that sooner

Cold honeydew melon has been a lifesaver for a week. I think other than sharing with the family, I've eaten a whole melon almost every day for about 4 days out of this week. I think it's helped with my dehydration too.

after about week 7, i couldn't take my prenatal AT ALL. it just made me too sick. and i'm taking a good whole food one! i've been making sure to take my b-complex and b6 though and the complex has 400mg folic acid so i feel okay about it. this last week i added a children's chewable vitamin and a chewable calcium...for some reason i can do all that but not my prenatal. go figure.

i also ate goat's cheese last night. it was cooked (and quite hot) in a panini in an upscale restaurant so my friend and i decided it was probably okay. i only ate half, because i also had soup, then later that evening reheated the other half in a 350F oven for 1/2 hour and gobbled it up. YUM! then i scared myself to death by googling listeria AFTER i'd eaten the sandwich. lesson: i need to commit to taking informed risks and not worry after, or just avoid them completely!

It's watermelon here. I'll wipe out 1/4 a watermelon in a day if given the chance.

prenatals

Confession; I stopped taking my vits for a month and a half because they made me vomit orange vitamin goo, which made me not hungry and nauseous the rest of the day.

THE SOLUTION!!!! Take KIDS CHEWABLE vitamins!! They taste good, and they're CHEAPER!!! If you check the label, they have everything you need including iron and folic acid. Prenatals are actually a rip-off.

Also, I have and will continue to eat sushi, deli meats almost daily, and cheese of all kinds, and I'm in Switzerland, so the pasteurization thing is not mandatory. Also, I've been drinking caffeine and ignoring the weight gain charts.

i found out the other day that i LOVE watermelon (bought some pre-cut) but the idea of cutting one open nearly makes me pass out frome exhaustion.

ITA about the kids chewable vitamins. Here is my confession: I have been letting the kids watch movies one right after the other and pretty much letting them do/ have whatever they want because I don't have the energy to say no.

I have been eating sweets every day. Getting my fruits and veggies in too, but definately eating sweets. DH's aunt owns a candy shop and insists that the baby needs coconut haystacks and chocolate covered cherries. (do those count as a fruit serving? )

I have also not been doing any exercise other than running up and down the stairs probably 8-10 times per day. Gotta work on that.

I have to have chocolate milk every day!!! I just love it right now. I'm on bedrest and haven't been able to get to the store and dh won't go, so I am stuck sulking without my chocolate milk in tears, drowning my sorrows with plain milk and chocolate chip cookies. It is so not the same. I also have been skipping my prenatals here and there when I feel nauseated and the omega moms have not been taken in 3 days.
On the watermelon subject....I have a huge one at home and it has been sitting in the middle of my dining room table for days now, because I can't muster up the energy to cut it and it is so huge I can't figure out a good way to do it either. My MIL brought over and now it just sits there waiting to be eaten.

I'm addicted to watermelon during pregnancy as well. That, strawberries, and salad are the only things that I've craved during BOTH my pregnancies!

I'm with everyone else though- precut. There's no way I could muster the energy to cut one up right now!

I have two confessions:

My kids are watching way too much t.v. because I just don't have the energy to do anything else with them most of the time.

I'm not eating near enough protein. My body just does not want it. I'm probably at around 30 grams per day and the recommended amount during pregnancy is 100 grams per day. I can't drink milk or eat cheese and my body says no to all meats, eggs, and most beans. I just discovered that the Clif bars have 12 g. of protein in them and they're very tasty! I think I'll stock up on those and eat 2 a day, at least until I get sick of them.

We're eating a lot of takeout and canned and frozen stuff. When I've got the energy to cook, nothing sounds good! Dh pulled out some odd cookbook he got in college where nothing requires more than 4 ingredients....but I notice he's not doing anything with it. I think he's enjoying the takeout.

Not taking my prenatals either. I heard about the chewables, my friend who has HG (you know, morning sickness to the extreme, that never fricking stops?) said Flintstones, in particular, tend to stay down. So I'm going to get some of those today.

I keep telling my dd that we can't have Subway or Mr. Goodcents for dinner because I can't have deli meat....but then I'll pick up a sandwich from the deli at the grocery. : It just tastes better darnit! And now I feel a little better reading the info here, because I know they make these fresh every day.

My kids are wearing some weird mis-matched outfits because I can't get the energy to do the laundry. I swear if I ever win the lottery, I'm putting in a main floor laundry room!!!!

How about just hire someone to do the laundry for you!

The hubster has to cut my melon for me, but now he's gone on a biz trip until Thursday! Ugh.

I do count getting up to pee as my only exercise

I go to Subway but I eat the yummy veggie subs (any veggies you want, but I get lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and black olive) and get extra cheese (for the protein of course )
