What do your kids drink milk out of?

I have an almost 3 yr old and a 16 mo old. My 16 mo old does still nurse, but he drinks raw cow's milk too. I'm wanting to move away from sippies. I've ordered some Siggs for drinking water out of. My kids do drink a lot of water, but that's not all they drink. Some of the reviews here regarding the Siggs and KK say that they should ideally only be used for water. THe cups are expensive enough that I don't want to mess around with that! So what should I serve my kids milk in? We've also just started drinking green smoothies. Delicious, but potentially messy! My almost-3 yr old could drink out of a proper cup, but definitely not the 16 mo old.

Thanks,
Aven

This would take a bit of monitoring for the younger child, but what about a stainless coffee mug with a plastic travel lid? They make small-ish ones and you could get the lid off easily to help him/her learn how to use a cup quickly. We started practicing pretty early with our two and they could manage a cup a lot earlier than I would have guessed. Good luck!

I do allow my 3 year old to use his sigg for milk occasionally, but I clean it out immedietly when he's done.
He also uses small juice glasses, ceramic mugs, or metal mugs.

I still have my 5 year old drinking out of those plastic Tupperware tumblers with the sippy lid.

Ikea had stainless cups for pretty cheap.

I was thinking the same thing! Sorry, not very helpful just got wanted to see what everyone said. We do use short glass glasses (how redundant is that?) for water, from Ikea. HTH

We use the Kleen Kanteens for milk. Have for about 8 months. Seems to work okay for us.

My goodness, you guys are terribly unhelpful

Actually, my little guy does still nurse, but I'm pregnant so I don't want to be his only source of milk. I'm tired and my bones feel hollow as it is.

I got my DD to start drinking milk and our green smoothies out of a short glass cup this past weekend.

I think I might let my DS drink his cows milk out of a #5 plastic for a few more months before trying to switch him to something else. At least having the Siggs for water will help cut down on the plastic overall.

Thanks,
Aven

Yah here too.

The guy over at thingamababy.com said something about using pimento spread jars as toddler glasses since they are sturdy and there aren't any threads. I just happened to remember this because it seemed like a *really* useful thing.

We use klean kanteen sippy cups and I am pleased so far. I clean them often during the day and it HAS to be better than the plastic ones we were using.I'm trying to do the best I can
