I'm practically bouncing after my 35 week OB apt. today, and this might be the first time. I had a last ultrasound to check the placenta and fluid levels and everything looked great. Baby is guestimated to be just over 5 lbs. which is right where he should be. (So cute to see him trying to eat his toes.)
Most importantly, I got all the answers I wanted from the Dr. with no waffling or maybes. No, they won't do internal exams during my weekly apts unless I request it (made a large note on my chart about that for me.) No, I don't have to have an IV or HepLoc at the hospital unless I'm GBS+, which I'm ok with. No, I don't have to deal with continuous monitoring unless something is going wrong. Intermittent is just fine. When I talked with the Dr. about wanting to be moving as much as possible during labor, and even during delivery, he suggested requesting access to the labor pools when I'm calling to say I'm on my way to the hospital.
It was just so nice to feel encouraged.
