Do you hope to hear a "plop" at every toilet visit, wondering if your plug will dislodge?

I lost huge amounts over 2 days last week and then nothing for a week and then yesterday lost a little more. I'm always checking my undies when I go pee to see if any more has come out.

Ack, it's disheartening to hear a couple of you say you've lost a lot and are seeing not much in the way of progress. I guess I am just hoping for some sign that all these annoying contractions are actually DOING something.

I had DD 4 days after losing mine. I'm still only 37w4d? and had her at 39w. Anyway, I figured a good portion of the board would sadly be joining me in this club.

with my second I lost my mucus plug and got all excited and called my midwife, she was wondering why I called and told me it could still be weeks, then my water broke an hour later....


This time I have been loosing chunks (now that sounds gross) of it over the past week, and everytime I see a piece I get excited but nothing happens

I never saw mine with dd. I think it probably plopped in the middle of the night and I never bothered to turn the lights on to check. So this time, I am anxiously awaiting the sight of my mucus plug. I had a teeny bit of funky mucus the other day that I'm pretty sure was part of it. But it was such a minute amount. I'm definitely waiting not so patiently for it to show up.

ME! I am waiting and seeking!!! I normally don't lose my plug though until well into labor, but I am always listening for a "plop"...LOL!

You know how they say not to think of a white polar bear, that whole thing? Well, every time I allow myself I visualize the baby's head dilating my cervic and recently my mucous loss has been much more significant. Not a huge plug but big chunks. So yeah, a little obsessed here!

Well, I found some (not a big glob, but still) this morning and it was a tad blood tinged, and I wasn't even looking for it! I just felt a wet sensation and thought, huh, I just peed, it better not be my water ... not, just some mucous plug! Then I got all nervous all the sudden. So there's a bit of excitement in the air, because today is DD's 4th birthday and the ILs are coming up from out of state (we'll have a small family party of 8 with BIL his wife and my mom, too). My mom predicted this bub would be born today, too (it's also my brother's birthday and he died almost 13 years ago). But I have to remind DH it could still be a couple weeks. Anyway ... that's been our morning.

Yep. I even checked the bed this morning just in case I lost it during the night (had plenty of nice contractions). I'd like a sign that all these ctx are doing something!

LOL! I was just telling the downstairs neighbor (a guy) about the TP check. He had NO IDEA what I was talking about. He is studying to be an MD so we were talking pregnancies. I was telling DH too and he didn't get it either.

But remember when we checked at the beginning of the pregnancy. Every discoloration was scruntized. Now its the same for the end of the pregnancy. Remember how slow the first six weeks are or until you reach that saftey net? Now its the same for me. I think it slowed down for me at 34 weeks...so the last six weeks.
