Holy active baby, Batman!

This baby has been very active the whole pregnancy, pretty much (started feeling her at 10weeks) but lately she's been going longer between active periods, so I assume she's adopting more of a newborn sleeping pattern. But the last two days she's been so active it's actually really uncomfy.

Before labour do babies tend to get more or less active? This is more of an anecdotal question. I can't remember what DD1 did.

I don't remember with DD, either, and have heard less active, but I just posted a couple days ago about this baby being very active at times and getting some great movements. He's less so today and yesterday.

I don't know, so this is anecdotal... I went to the hospital yesterday because my VERY active baby suddenly wasn't. I was in hysterics, jostling my belly, trying to get this kid to move. Of course, s/he started his/her acrobatics as soon as I was hooked up to the machines. Within minutes, the nurses were happy with her/his movements. I was told that babies can have quiet days, especially if I'm dehydrated or depressed. Pretty sure it's the latter. In any case, his/her normal activity resumed at that time. I think s/he just had, as ds says, "a nice, yong nap" all morning. I wondered--hopefully--if this wasn't the calm before the storm; my body and the baby getting ready to work. Everyone thought that was a nice idea, but I don't think they bought it.

I read somewhere that they can get very active right before labor. I have a very INactive baby here so everytime it moves a little more than usual I start thinking this might be it!
