Raw milk question

How long does raw milk last in the fridge? How do I know when its going bad? What can I do with it if it starts to turn?

and

How can I tell if it is homogenized or not?

I just got my first gallon of raw milk the other day and since I don't drink milk that fast I was wondering how long I had to finish it. Also, I assumed it would be whole milk, but I looked again on the lable and it said that it was 2%, presumably they are using the rest of that milk fat to make butter and ice cream, but it makes me question whether or not they homogeized it. It doesn't say "homogenized" on the lable, but I really didn't see any separation either. I got the milk from grassfedonthehill farm.

I get my milk from a farm that's an hour away from me every two weeks. The first week it's the freshest tasting. After the first week, it slowly starts souring, but it still tastes fine to me. At the end of two weeks, if I have milk left, I make it into yogurt.

In whole milk, you should see a line of demarkation between the milk and cream after it has been sitting in your fridge for a day or two. Maybe your milk hasn't been setting long enough to separate? If you shake it, the line will disappear and it can take a while to separate out again. I always get whole milk, so since there's quite a bit of cream at the top, the line is very obvious. Maybe with 2% milk the separation isn't as obvious.

Enjoy your milk!
