confessions of a poas addict

: i know i said i was not going to have any more tests available in my closet but.......today dh kept ds while i got to go shopping and do errands and there i was in the same shopping complex with the dollar tree. so of course i had to run in and check it out. they had a ton of cheapie tests so i now have 5. i've never used the cheapies before. this will be so much better on my budget!

Congrats, madis!!!!

Just wanted to give an update on using progesterone cream to induce af....it didn't work. It's been about a week since I stopped using it and still no af. : Maybe someone else will have better luck.
Rachel, did it work for you?

Well I think AF may be on the way. I saw a tinge of pink on the tissue last night and although my husband thinks I may be pregnant I have not "felt" pregnant as of yet. We shall see. My cervix has been very high and closed but who knows... Here is hopeing no AF for me:

Hi gals! Sorry to have been MIA. I am in a quandry. It looks like I am getting ready to O either today or tomorrow, but I am not sure I am emotionally ready yet for us to try this cycle. I keep getting the what ifs.

I'm going to say it; Bah Humbug! Dh slept in, is making jokey insults (he thinks it's funny) and is in general making it a bad day. Add to that the UTI I have and the fact that my temps are all over the place and FF says that I know longer have a recognizable pattern. Urg, sorry for the vent.

Exterior temps don't have an influence on my basal temps do they? I wouldn't think so but dh suggested it, so I thought I'd ask.

Here's my wacky chart;

I did read in a scientific article that ambient temperature effects BBT.

Me 3! Maybe we can start a POAS addict support group so we don't spend a fortune on tests this month.

Jen, outside temperatures shouldn't make much of a difference. I have noticed a .1 to .2 degree difference with extreme differences but not usually. Hang in there!

Jannyjo, I know how that can be. My first cycle after my m/c I didn't "avoid" dh but I sure wasn't trying too hard. I think I needed a couple of months before I was ready again. Some women can try the very next cycle and others can take a longer break. Do what feels right in your heart. And big for you today too.

Happy Mother's Day!

"Can I get a positive OPK and then not ovulate? Yup! It is possible for your body to "gear up" to ovulate, leading to an LH surge-- and then, for some reason (such as stress, illness, travel, or random fluke), your body fails to release an egg. When this happens, your LH surge will dissipate and your cevical mucus (a signal of fertility) will dry up. Once the stress is resolved, your body will try again. This can happen more than once per cycle. Therefore, there is no way to be sure you ovulated, even if you had a positive OPK. OPK's are most accurate when used in conjunction with fertility charting (NFP or FAM.) That way, a positive OPK can be cross-checked with an increase in basal body temperature and/or cervical mucus dry-up."

In other news I had ewcm today. We didn't bd yesterday or Friday but will do over the next couple of days just in case. Hayley's been nursing constantly for a couple of weeks but hardly nursed the past two days. I wonder if that's what's messing up my O?

i have a question for all you fertility sign experts out there.
tmi follows.
today i had a lot of cf. it was coming out so much i thought af was back. when i checked it was kinda wet, white creamy and pretty stretchy. but my cervix was most definitely low and hard.
?when you observe your ewcf is your cervix still low and then it moves up when you actually ovulate or is it high already if it is indeed fertile cm?

I'm like three days into the 2ww and already making myself : because I feel so queasy today, and my boobs hurt, and I am cranky. I felt symptoms REALLY early with dd and I am psyching myself out.

Cheryl- Thanks for your input. I was starting to feel like there was something wrong with not being quite ready yet. We decided to skip this cycle and take things as they come.

Elaina- I usually get fertile cf for a couple of days before my cervix moves up and softens.
