Thanks for sharing all your adorable babies!!!! They are so cute, and (so far) a bit chunkier than John. I guess he's going to take after his skinny daddy and brother (now almost three and only 26 lbs.). John is about 11 lbs. (about 4lbs over his b/w of 7.2). Will you all recommend some sites that are good for picture sharing? I have a ton on my computer of Jamie and John, and would love to share a few!

The doctor said John's lungs were okay and it was just an upper-respiratory infection that would probably go away on it's own, so she recommended WAY MORE saline and staying upright a lot, and a humidifier and suctioning the nose and vicks vapor rub on his bib. I also take him in the hot shower w/ some vicks and that has also helped me (my sinuses are the worst for this cold). So we went back today so she could listen to his lungs b/c he is still coughing up a bunch. His breathing was a little fast, but his lungs still sound clear --- of course John didn't cough once DURING the appointment! : He was scheduled for his 1st checkup on 5/31, so the doctor will have a good listen then to make sure he's completely better. I must say that I'm very impressed with her not prescribing a medicine just b/c I showed up twice worried. That is exactly the kind of doctor I want. How could I have gotten so lucky?

Midwife finally called to apoligize on Tuesday but didn't sound very contrite. She claims that someone else was responsible for calling people but had a family emergency. How lame! Anyway, we chatted for a while and I'm not mad anymore, so she's going to try to come up and see us at some point. I think I'm fine at this point, and John's under the doctor's care, but it will be nice to have closure, even if it means parting with that $350.

Need to starting thinking about birth control. After Jamie I had NOOOOOOO interest (poor DH) for almost 2 years and AF didn't return until he was 17 months, but John is a good night sleeper and less demanding in general than Jamie, so I need to think of something fast (if it's not already too late) ------- OMG!
:

Louma. It looks like we have kids about the same age. I know what you mean about listing to CIO discussions. I've been so relieved though in finally talking more to mothers in my own rural community who I would never have considered AP --- they are just "regular, non-crunchy" mommies, and it seems like well over 1/2 have some version of the family bed. I was thrilled to discover this, and felt so much more connected than I used to.

They're cuties! I have several like that myself. I even have one little video clip where Jamie is holding a peacefully sleeping John, and one minute later John's screaming hysterically while Jamie laughs.

My sweet little DD is now 10 weeks old. She has been sleeping through the night (7-8 hour solid stretch) since 6 weeks which is just amazing after my last child who never went more then 2 hours till 18 months. At her 2 month checkup she was 13lbs11oz and 25 inches. She is my lightest 2 month old even though she weighed a whole pound more then her brothers at birth. Her latest trick is she holds both her hands together by her chest like she is praying then will either hold them up and stare at them or try to shove them both in her mouth which is so cute. If I'm not looking at her she will try to "yell" at me to get my attention as she is doing now. No vaxes for this little one. One of the student midwives where I had her gave me the name of a friend she went to school with that is now a naturopath so I gave her a try and I really clicked with her. It was nice to hear GOOD when I said I don't want to vax her instead of being looked at like you have 2 heads and are ignorant. She makes all the foamy bubbles too and her collars are always soaked with drool as she is teething. YES teething! My first ds had two teeth by 3 months and my 2nd ds had two teeth by 2.5 months and I can tell hers are coming as well.

Avaylee I used PSBC as well and I cried like a baby at my 6 week postpartum check because I was so sad it was my last visit. I loved those ladies!!

We used PSBC too.

I found out at my 6 week that Traci is moving to Montana. That was rough!

Ooo, I thought I had the only skinny baby! 11 weeks old, and he still fits in Kissaluvs 0's! Although he's outgrowing the rise - they look like those low-rise jeans! At his 7 week appt he was 9lb7oz and 22.5 inches tall, and now he's 10 lb 12oz and 24 inches (about).

I have my own website/server so I don't use a photo hosting service, but I know a lot of people that use Flickr, and quite a few that use Shutterfly...

JeenyClaire: I use photobucket.

Seeing_stars is that a tie dye prefold??

Louma - sorry to hear you didn't get the birth you wanted, I didn't have c/s but my birth went waay of course than I had planned. I don't let myself get down about things and also do my best to wallow in the ap experience. I go in the NICU threads and just be thankful things didn't go waaay worse. Those mamas are some strong and tough mamas.

I love seing everyones babies, I hope we can see more!

Deuxceleste, are you out there?

Same here!!! I LOVE that Marin is sleeping so well - I dreaded the first few months originally, just remembering how hard it was with ds!

Anyone have their babies poop change from seedy to "smooth"?? Not quite liquid but no more seedy stuff, definitely smoother. : Just don't remember this with ds.

That is my try at low water immersion dyeing. I did a batch of red/otange and a batch of turquoise/avocado

I've also been wondering where MummyTwice is - hope she's not overwhelmed by single-parenting her irish twins. Wait, how could she *not* be overwhelmed!? If you're reading along, I hope you're doing okay!

Photos - I use KodakEasyShare. It's good for sharing an "album", but I started using it b/c I was ordering pictures and made calendars for Xmas gifts.

Poop - Eli's is all over the map. It's bright yellow most of the time - Robin's was never so bright.

Eli is also sleeping better than RObin. Sometimes he sleeps from 11 or 12 until 5 or 6! Not every night, but it's such a nice surprise. I;ve started putting him down in his crib, then bringing him to my bed when he wakes up. He instanty went to sleeping longer, just like his sister did. I think if they smell the milk, they must have it

Isabel's poop is not seedy anymore, but almost liquid. I was wondering if its normal. I keep worrying because it almost looks mucousy but not quite.

She also has a slight pee burn, I think the washer isn't doing its job. I change her right away, since I don't use covers. I'm doing a third rinse hope it helps.

sagan is eight weeks old, now.
and so incredibly aware.

he's constantly watching and observing. today, we took him on a walk and dp held him facing outwards. the entire time he was staring up at the tops of the trees. so cute.
lately, he's started laughsquealing at both dp and i and his giraffe doll.

he is getting sososo big, now...

and has put himself on a schedule. (i always just let him do his own thing)
and he even lets me sleep until noon, sometimes...

it was difficult to get used to caring for a baby at first, but it seems like, whenever i think it's getting too difficult or stressful, it gets easier.

i love this sweet human i've come to know over the passed two months.
he teaches me so much everyday.

Hey mamas!

Karen, the pics in your sig are adorable!

Louma, welcome!!

Yo-Becca, yeah "under-documented" is the word! I hope down the road Miles doesn't mind that his sister had several photo-albums full by now.

seeing stars, such cute pictures!

JennyClaire, I am so glad John's lungs were clear. I just HATE it when the little tiny babies get sick.

PrinceE&LsMom, yikes, teeth?!?!?

cosmotion, what a sweet post! Miles loves to observe everything too.

Miles doesn't seem to have much interest in doing much of rolling or anything like that, but he always looks like he's deep in thought. I have the feeling he will grow up to be like me, while my DD is definitely like dh.

Well, I am off to an eye dr appt... we'll see how it goes with dh in charge So far I've only been gone once (for 45 minutes - haircut) and when I got home baby was screaming... poor dh... he was trying really hard!

I am so happy to have the internet for a while.

Corbin had his first trip to the beach today. Alicia loves him and loves to help mommy with baby Corbin. He loved his trip to the beach and cooed and smiled. I nursed him on the beach and my back got slightly burned. Alicia and I chased waves and built sand castles so she could be a princess. It was a wonderful day and now I am ending my evening by watching House on DVD and thinking about bed time.

So how is everyone else doing?

Hope you can view this picture:

Miranda just smiles all the time, and coos quite a bit, too! It just melts my heart every time I see/hear her! She even smiles at me when she's trying to push out some gas!

She's very gassy lately...not sure why. Also having one green stool a day, but not sure which feeding is causing that. Seems she's always on the breast every afternoon, but not much overnight or in the morning. Hate seeing her struggle with the gas. Hoping that issue resolves itself soon.

My brother and his family came by yesterday. His son, Jordan, will be 3 next month. Just had to share this story:
Jordan walks into the room and sees me nursing Miranda....
J (to his mom): What's she doing?
Mom: She's drinking. She's thirsty.
J: Where's her food?
Mom: It's in Colleen
J: How?
Mom: It's milk and Colleen makes it.
J: Oh.
Later...grandpa asks: "What's Miranda doing?" (I'm nursing her again...) J: "She's drinking." He seems to have grasped the idea although I think he still wonders where her food is! He also calls her "My baby cousin". I don't think he can pronounce Miranda yet.

Same visit...my brother asked: "Does she sleep with you?"
"Yes"
"Well, when you get back home you better put a stop to that as soon as possible, otherwise she'll be 11 or 12 and still want to sleep with you!"
"So?"
His wife started to argue with him over it and I said, "I don't need parenting advice, thank you!" and she said, "That's right! You don't know what you're talking about anyway!"

I got gypped again! Two months pp and I got my first period. I so hate this. I had 2.5 years of not thinking about birth control and now I have to worry about bc and deal with my period every month. Arg!

Henry is doing well. I think we might be starting to teethe. He's getting so big so fast

I turned 35 today. . it's been a strange birthday. I'm probably just cranky from having my period.

Colleen, oh my she is beautiful!! And look how chunky she is! She's perfect

Ergonyer, wow, how cute! And those brown eyes! Did they change already, or was he born brown-eyed?

bemommy, I'm sorry

So, when do their eyes change color anyway? DD stayed blue-eyed, but our ped at the time said they would for sure turn brown. DS is still blue-eyed, but I'd be surprised if they stayed blue ... I'm green-eyed and DH is brown-eyed. (I know it's more complicated than just the parents' eye color, but still.)

I enlisted DH's help w/ the camera so we finally got some smiley pics! I will have to show them later though. Have to run now!

Happy Birthday! My 30th birthday was yesterday and dh threw me a surprise party. It was super! Dh insisted on making all the food from scratch and a super delicious ganache chocolate truffle cake. Oh so yummy! And it was wonderful spending the afternoon outside surrounded by family and friends.

Izzy is such a delight and still sleeps a fair amount. She's been a mama's girl for the past week, which I don't mind one bit! She's getting all rolly-polly and filling out. She's also been practicing her smiles every so often. I'm just so smitten with her!

Here's a pic of B from about a week ago.

I'm sorry bemommy. I got my period at 7 weeks. My midwife said that sometimes there is just last ditch bleeding around that time, but given it's behavior I'm pretty sure it was the real thing. Now I have a yeast infection. Oh gee, don't you all just envy me? :
