Things went AWESOME!! I can hardly believe how different the two births were, and I will share more details within the next few weeks. I'm tired right now - go figure.
The basics... early early labor on Saturday/Saturday night - slept great. More labor on Sunday morning, intensifying, but still very irregular. Doula came over at 4:00 PM because I was feeling very anxious. By 8:00 PM, was in a regular pattern of 5 min apart. By 9:00 was 2-3 min apart and feeling lots of pressure (like "bowling ball" pressure). Made decision to go to hospital, actually left house around 10:00-ish. Contractions were spaced apart very similar to when we went in with Amari, but were much more intense. Got to hospital at 10:15, checked me, bag of waters was bulging, and I was 10 cm - no urge to push. Filled up the waterbirth tub while getting the 20 minute strip/official stuff taken care of. Got into the water around 11:15/11:30 PM, she was born at 12:50 AM. The only terrible part was that her head was pressing against my pelvic bones and pinching a nerve causing charley horses down my inner thigh each time I pushed - and the only thing to do about it was push her past that spot on my pelvis.
She's 7 pounds, 13.2 ounces. 14" head, 13.5" chest, 20 3/4" long. And gorgeous. I haven't downloaded any pictures yet.
