My thawed milk is gross! Here's a little background, with dd, I exclusively pumped and was overproducing. I had (no lie!) 200 bags of frozen breastmilk in mine and my mom's freezer, I would thaw it and it would not be edible. I am breastfeeding with this new baby and decided to try to freeze some with the help of an LC that said I should scald my milk before freezing due to what happened with dd. Apparently my milk has a high fat content and scalding breaks it down. Anyway, I thawed some out to "test" yesterday and it is still funky tasting. Any suggestions? I really wanted to start a small stash for when I went to work. Help!

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

Search on kellymom for excess lipase. It sounds like that's what's going on.

To be honest frozen BM does have a bit of an oder. I should not smell nasty or rotten but it does not smell anywhere as good as fresh. I always liken it to the smell (or lack their of ) of really fresh fish verses the frozen variety. It is still good but just does not smell the same.
Also I second what RachelGS said above.
