Too many herbs?

I'm taking a whole lot of vitamins and herbs, is this ok? I take my normal pre-natal vitamins (6 a day, they're the Rainbow Light, with all kinds of good stuff in them), 2 milk thistle (for keeping my liver going good, since I had toxemia with my first PG), 3 dandelion, 6 nettle, plus 3 High BP blend that contains garlic, motherwort, hawthorne, passion flower, indian snake root, and more dandelion. So 20 capsules throughout the day. My dh thinks I'll like OD on so many, but I feel like they all have their purpose keeping me and the baby at optimum health, so I can have a HB. Does anyone think this is too much, or is this fine?

TIA!

Listening to your body is usually the best answer. Do you feel okay? What you described doesn't sound *too* excessive IMO though it is a lot more than I personally took. (I took the same prenatals, lots of raspberry leaf tea and some passionflower and skullcap occassionally....)

Good luck.

I would consider using infusion form for the nettles and dandelion just because it is so much more assmitable to the body as taking pills and gell caps tend to not work as well, also sometimes it can cause worse indigestion. With an infusion its also cheaper because your buying dried herbs in bulk which allow you to purchase as much or little as needed!

You get either an herb sock or a muslin tea bag and put about a teaspoon of both herbs then either in a quart jar or a sun tea jar you fill to the very brim with boiling water let it steep for 6-7 hours and drink liberally, both dandelion and nettles cannot be overused as they are food sources!
Check out susun weeds herbs for the childbearing years for great recipies and advice on digestibility!

p.s. I love your Ds name we are naming our baby due 8/11/03 River also!!!!

Have you considered some of those herbs in a tea form? They have many good advantages, but trust yourself and research all you can. Garlic is a blood thinner and from my study, can lead to a bleeding problem after the baby. I would check into that one.

Goodluck, Robin
