Hi everyone! Happy May!!

We're doing pretty good here... leaving in one week to drive up the highway to Alaska. Moving to Homer, a small town in southcentral AK. Both DH and I are from that area and have lots of family there. It will be interesting to see how the trip is with an almost 1yo and our 2 1/2 yo!

Anna is walking like crazy. She's really fussy, though!! Anyone else experiencing this? She's very clingy and needy and whines/cries a lot. I'm actually wondering if something is bothering her, like her canines or molars. She has the top front four and bottom four... she was just so placid her first 9 months that this is a change! She's becoming very demanding!

Popping in to say hi and sub.

K is walking with her hippo walker, standing on her own for up to about 5 seconds at a time, has broken her 1st molars on top and the bottoms are close behind for a total of 10 teeth through and 2 on the way (keep in mind D had all his teeth including his "2-yr" molars by 18 months), and is loving feeding herself solids now...is nursing lots throughout the night recently. Babbling a ton. Has made her own "sign" for nursing, which is smacking her lips

She's generally a happy gal...so long as I'm in plain sight and completely accessible to her. If I leave the room - well, let's just say it ain't pretty. :

Ashley, K has been pretty intense for 10 months now, so it's not a change to me ; sorry you're joining this particular club!

Reposting with actual information.

First, Ashley, a college friend of mine (whom I actually met in Switzerland) was from Homer, AK. He said Jewel (the singer) was too. I wonder if he is still there. ? His name is Loren but I forget his last name. I don't think Loren for a guy is too common though!
Also, I went to UW too. We were there at the same time, kind of. I went from 1/2000 to 6/2002. Funny!

P has become more demanding lately-- he wakes often at night and doesn't like it when people leave him alone too much. But, he climbs on things (recently, the couch and anything that can function as a makeshift step) and walks with things. He's a really good cruiser. He has 8 teeth and I have no idea if more are coming. He hasn't been as into food lately, but still likes it. Definitely he is a reverse cycler.
He and DH go on daily bike rides now that the weather is good, and they both really enjoy this.
P is still a really happy kid, he smiles and makes funny faces all of the time, he clearly says mama, dad, and hey. It's so fun to see him excited by something.

Well, I'll be back later. Happy birthday to Sam and Marlow!!

Oh, and fireant, I am wondering if you're ok? It seems you're really concerned about your anonymity-- is everything alright?

I guess Leigh Anne never returned after Lent. ? And, of course, others are gone now too.

Hi everyone~

Still here, just been busy. Lately MDC has been my brain dump -- where I go when I don't want to think about anything important or talk about my kiddos. : That sounds horrible, but I don't mean it in a mean way. It's just nice sometimes to be . . . fluffy.

Sebastian's doing great. He and Qualia are just getting over Fifth disease, but he got it really lightly -- a red rash on his tummy and red cheeks, no fever or crankiness. Qualia got it much worse -- 103-104 temp. for 4 days, insane crankiness, ear infection, the works. Both are on the mend now and we're finally out of our self-imposed quarantine. Woohoo!

In the past 6 weeks, Bastian's gone into full out "Big Kid" mode. He started crawling and now zooms around the house, is pulling himself up to standing . . . and. letting. go. Oh man, I'm not ready for that. He does this awesome deep horse stance and just sinks down on his heels and will hang out like that for a good 30 seconds. And then he realizes I'm not holding onto him and he panics and sits down fast! "Mama" is his official first word and he's got some fabulous babble to go with it, complete with waving "hi" and "bye" and pointing at things of interest: sister, cat, garbage truck, cat, dadoo, cat, cat, and oh, did you see the cat!?!? He reeeeeally likes the cats. They reeeeeeally don't know what to make of him.

Okay...teeth - we're getting our third one on top and have four on bottom. Mobility - crawling everywhere, standing up every chance she gets, standing alone for about 5 seconds at a time, haven't figured out how to move the feet yet. Communicating - we have waving, clapping, and a very cute attempt to blow kisses; we have "mum," "dada," and "kgah" (cat?) and we have lots of unintelligible yells and shouts to indicate want or need. Talula is trying to devise a plan right now to escape out the front door.

wow, cool! homer is very small (4,000 people). and yes, jewel is from there.

paddington -- nursing generally does stop the whining/fussies. i end up nusing her ever hour or so!

Gotta post some new pics soon, but Andrew is the cutest and sweetest baby ever, if I do say so myself : He stands by himself (well, until he loses his balance!) and has taken a couple of steps - not sure if they were intentional or "accidental steps while falling forward" IYKWIM! He says "mama" and "dada" and his sisters are jealous and keep asking, "When is he going to say 'Teresa' and "Maddy'?" Can't believe how time is flying....still no AF here so still no baby #4 or anything....oh, he has 6 teeth but I suspect more are on the way - he's been waking up a ton at night lately (not so fun but what can you do) And he is stubborn! Anytime I have to redirect him from something he lets me know he is pissed off! But he has the best giggle in the history of the world. And he needs to work on the social skills - today he was sitting on the floor at my good friend's house playing with her son who's the same age (they are 4 days apart!) and they were so cute together, until Andrew leaned over, picked up his foot, and bit him. Out of nowhere! Oops....I know it was of course not intended to hurt him but...

Um....guess that's all here....Dad is not doing so well so I've been back and forth to NJ & not online so much...

Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm quite a newbie to mdc. DS was born on June 27, so we just made it into june mommies. DS is standing on his own for a few seconds and has taken a few steps a couple of times. He loves going outside and playing on the slide, he can climb up the stairs and tries to climb up the slide too. He is just getting his fourth tooth. He manages to feed himself. I thought this was great as I can get things done while he's eating but you should see the state of the floor afterwards He's a happy little thing most of the time.

Welcome! Our K was born on June 28 so we're right there with you, just sneaking in under the deadline! I've taken to stripping K out of her shirt when I give her anything that isn't an O cereal, just to cut down on the mess - she refuses to wear a bib.

Thank you! She had a great day yesterday! I got her a pop-up tent for her birthday and she loves going through the little holes on the side.

We've been really sick here. Just when DD gets a bit over the double ender she gets a bad cold and a messy eye. Does anyone know what pink eye looks like?

Dd can now say 'kiki' for kitty....it's her first word. She's so in love with cats.
She will also only walk now. No crawling anymore even though she falls every 10 ten steps or so.

I just got over finals yesterday too!
