Anyone have henna done while pregnant? Care to share pictures?? I'm getting henna'ed Saturday and I'm SO excited!!

Haven't had it done before but a woman I know did and it was beautiful! Someone offered to henna me before the end of this pregnancy, but I don't know if I'll get around to it.

those are beautiful! so how long does the henna last? i'm not quite 39 weeks but i'd love to find someone to henna my belly if it'll last another couple of weeks.

i did! i got impatient and did my own tho, LOL!! kinda blurry pic... henna lasts about a week or two on bellies, from my experience, and of course it depends a LOT on the paste mix--was it "terped" with tea-tree or lavender oil, was it mixed in water or lemon juice, and perhaps most importantly, HOW OLD was the paste mix?? I mixed my paste and then stupidly let it sit room-temp for like two days, so the majority of the pigment had leached out already

ooohhh - Krystal, that looked great! I can't belive you did it on yourself - how could you manage such a pretty design upside down and backwards??

Mine has lasted a week now, and it still looks pretty dark - starting to fade a bit, I expect it to last another week. I wonder what it will look like when I finally have this baby - all deflated and wrinkled.. ha! lol! Should be interesting.

What type of stores typically carry henna kits??? Do they come with stencils?

I would love a henna belly but can't find an artist in my area...

krystal, your belly is beautiful! how did you do that yourself!?

i'm so excited because you all inspired me to really look into having this done & i think i've found someone!!! we live in an area with a large east indian population & my husband is a high school teacher so....i shot him a quick email to find me a connection. it didn't take long! one of his students & her mother think it's amazing i want to do this & have offered to be my artists!!! yippee! hopefully this will happen this weekend & i'll post some photos.

i got my kit from hennacaravan.com, you can even get the paste pre-mixed from there but it's more pricey that way. Stephanie, that is cool that you found ppl who want to do it for you!! The only ppl who offer professional henna art around here are like 4 hours away and a big rip-off too :

Lurker here...but had to share my pics (first one is with the paste still on, second one is after I scraped it off)
A friend did this for me a week ago, and it's pretty faded already - though you can see the color wasn't that dark to start.
I think the ladies that did it for me bought the paste at an Indian grocery/supply store, and mixed in lemon juice and tea tree oil.
It's very fun

p.s. for the record (since I always want to know), those pics were taken at 38 wks, 3 days

We did it on April 21st and it's still pretty dark, but it's getting lighter. It's also streching out and the lines are no longer contiguous.

OH WOW!! Beautiful bellies ladies!!! I'm having my henna done tomorrow at 3pm! I'm SO excited!! Anyone have any tips? She said we will have to tape it up with some medical tape for awhile.. Here are two patterns I LOVE..
