My dh and I argue over this all the time.

I prefer Elvis Presley, while he prefers Johnny Cash. We argue over which one is better and more popular.

I could not think of a better place to come and see than MDC. So ladies and gentleman, please let me know who you prefer.

that is one choice that doesn't have to be made.

unless it was which one would you shag, and then obviously the answer is Elvis. But young black leather pants Elvis, not bloated spangled white jumpsuit Elvis.

We much prefer Johnny Cash.

I have heard a few of Elvis when he first started singing that where quite good then he went weird and ....

That's funny, my husband prefers Johnny Cash, too. Maybe it's a guy thing. JC was certainly not the sex symbol Elvis was, he's darker, ya know? I like both men's music, but if I was stranded on a desert island, I'd be dreaming of young Elvis and not the Man in Black. JC was not a pretty man, although I think casting Joaquin Phoenix was a good match that actually worked out better for JC. He didn't look as good as JP did portraying him.

I just finished folding laundry which included my Cash T-shirt. I am and always have been a Cash girl. I prefer his music (way more depth than Elvis'), his activism (prison activism is important to me) and his partnership with June. The only thing that wasn't endearing were his comics, but maybe that's because I wasn't raised Christian.

Elvis could never have pulled off "Hurt" the way Johnny did. Heck, Trent Reznor won't sing it anymore because his version just doesn't compare.

Elvis was more polished; he was definitly entertaining and sexy. His music was fun.

But Johnny's voice! I feel it here, baby. Mm mm.

I voted for the Man in Black.

I've never ever liked Elvis. Do not get the facination with him or his music

Not even a question- Johnny Cash (plus it doesn't hurt that Joaquin Phoenix played him in the movie- I love me some Joaquin too). Elvis is just dirty to me for some reason.

Elvis Presley started rock and roll and is more popular just because of that. He is the King of Rock n' Roll ya know. I do like and have always liked Johnny Cash better though. It's taste I think.

Elvis was more popular but IMO, Johnny Cash was the better artist.

And..Elvis' work might have had a large impact on society, but Cash's work seems to have had the larger impact on art.

Johnny Cash is a legend, I am not sure you can even compare the two. Read a bit more about him...you'll see why he is so admired.
