Apple Cider Vinegar makes hair oily?

I do the "no poo" and use baking soda with an apple cider vinegar mixed with water rinse. It seems like that I will "wash" with the baking soda and my hair will feel clean. Then as soon as I put the rinse on I can literally feel the oil "rushing" to the surface of my hair and then it feels more greasy than when I started. Am I doing something wrong? Does this happen to anyone else?

Do you use 100% ACV? Try using a Water-ACV mix (10:1) or less, and put it only on the hair below your hair, and maybe don't use everytime you wash your hair. It takes a while, to figure that out.

No I don't use 100%. I have a cup that I use and I put some in the bottom of the cup and then fill the rest with water. It is probably more than a 10:1 ration though. I'll try diluting it some more.

I use 2 tablespoons of acv per cup of water, i know what you mean about it making your hair feel greasy, it does mine too, i rinse my hair out really well using cool water and that seems to get rid of that greasy feeling.

I use 2 Tbs to 4 cups of water and do not rinse out. My hair does not feel greasy for a couple of days. I just started the no-poo regimen so that's probably why it only takes a couple of days.
I don't rinse the vinegar/water solution out because when I do, my hair feels really stiff regardless of warm or cold water. By leaving it in, my hair is really soft and it does not smell after it dries.

I use ACV only (no soda) diluted about 1:5, apply to very wet hair, rub into scalp, let sit a few minutes, and rinse out while combing. My hair does feel oily while still wet, but this goes away as it dries.

When I used shampoo, I had to use a leave-in conditioner; this has the same effect.

Be sure you're only applying ACV to the hair below your ears, not anywhere near your scalp.
