1 cm Dialated...

I know, I know, that doesn't automatically mean much, you can walk around like that for a month, right!?

But........ with dd, I was 1 cm dialated on a Wens, and went into labor that same Friday, just 2 days later! That was my 39 week though, and I'm just in my 36th week now, but it was still exciting to find out that all the contrax and cramps are at least doing something and things are moving forward!

I had forgotten how uncomfortable internal exams can be though! Ouch. My ob said something about the cervix being somewhat posterier although that changes as labor progresses.

Anyways.........I'm excited!!!!

I didn't have any internals with my first pregnancy, and plan not to this time either... I too find them very uncomfortable - almost painful.

but my MIL doesn't understand why I don't want one... she said she was always so excited to find out...

she said she actually walked around for 3 weeks at 4cm!!!

I'm glad though that I'm not the only one feeling ctx & crampy... on & off about 3 days now.

My m/w said that I am 1-2 cm dilated too. I'll be 36 weeks tomorrow. I remember with my ds I was dilated for weeks before labor began. I hope this babe gives me at least 2 more weeks too.

It's exciting tho! And crazy -this pregnancy went by so fast for me.

You do have something happening -- every cm you have before labor is great in my book! I think I walked around at 2-3 cms for a good three weeks with my second though, maybe your body ripens a little faster when it isn't the first time?

I was 1 cm dilated with dc2 before 30 wks and then walked around a couple weeks at 3 cm before birthing him (in 45 minutes) at 39 wks. So who knows? But well wishes!

last tuesday i was 2cms dilated. i'm curious to see what i'll be this coming tuesday. last time i was ~2cms for 2 or 3 weeks. but i am dilating earlier this time so that could be a good sign that i will not be pregnant until 42 weeks!!

i love the 'free' progress too. although i've felt it. lots of shooting pains in the cervix lately.
