low back pain and cramping

i've had this crampy feeling in my lower back for about 5 hours. it's getting worse. but i can't time it...it's just more or less like a constant thing that gets better and worse but never really goes away. sometimes my belly hurts at the same time. i feel like this is some kind of labor-y thing, but i don't know...

what worries me is it is much worse on the right than the left. does this mean it's not a labor thing, but some kind of other thing? help! i don't know anything! :

but it is definitely pretty painful, whatever it is.

What position is your baby in? Sometimes OP can be felt in your back but it is all just labour at your stage and that's a good thing Pains in the body in labour can be all different and each one of us experiences it slightly differently as a result. I hope this is some beautiful early labour work that your body is doing to beautifully birth your baby to their own timetable!

take a warm bath or shower and try to get some sleep- if you are thinking you are sick- do you have a fever or other symptoms that what you have described?

sounds like you might be in early labor! sleep - even if you need to take something to help the sleep come.

no, i had no other symptoms. it just didn't feel like i imagined it feeling...which probably sounds kind of dumb

but i guess we all imagine labor--and it may or may not be what we imagine, right?

anyway, the back pain kept up for about 9 hours, gradually subsided, and i had a great sleep. woke up to more just regular cramping/contrax in the lower belly. which i can tolerate a lot better than the back stuff...

it's not labor labor, but i'll take it...thanks for the reassurance, mamas
