I wasn't going to post this cuz I thought it was too late but afterreading other posted I changed my mind!!

I went to the doc on 2/20/07 for a routine exam. She weighted and measured me and started asking lots of questions while doing the rest of her exam.. It turns out I had not gained a ounce in a month and at 39 weeks 5 days I was measuring at 35weeks.. I am (was ) a small woman so I thought little of this. She checked the heart rate which was 90. I was there alone with ds(25months) and he was havung a blast rubbung my belly and *playing with the doc and her stuff* We waited and rechecked the heart rate.. it was 170. It kept dropping and then going really high. She asked about movement as she hadn't felt any in the 30 mins we were there. I said it was calmer than usually but it was getting to be a tight fit in there.

She was concerned so she told me to go home then head to the hospital as the she felt the baby wasn't doing good and she wanted to get it out...: So home on the way stopped at my moms work to tell her to
head to the hospital and why. I was scared of all the possiblities and started to cry. I then drove home in tears to tell dh and dd who was home sick from school. I decided to put ds down for a nap and rest for awhile.

When we got up we went to the hospital and they were very calm and worked a snail pace. DD heart rate was 170's but they continued to calmly check me over. I knew I had been having contractions for the last week but even at that point I barely noticed them. They were every 5-6 min. and regular but not progressing.

DD's heartrate started to go up and down so I agreed to augment the labor with pit. as I knew I could never live with myself if I didn't and something happened to her. After 4 hours of slightly increasing contractions I was getting antsy passing the halls and with the birthing ball. I just had told dh that it was boring when dd heart rate went up and stayed up and the doc decided to break my water and I agreed. After that the contraction intensifed and I sat on the birthing ball focusing on aspec of dirt! DS started to irritate me as he was getting tired so I asked my mom to get him to sleep outside the room. That was so exciting as I knew getting testy ment I was getting close. After that DH and DD#1 sat in the room watching and talking to me every so often... DD was amazing it was like she knew what I needed. She said to dh maybe we should just whisper so not to disturb mama. After about 20 mins I no longer felt comfy on the ball.. So I got in bed and found that to not be the place I wanted to be. So I squated next to the bed.. Then it was like musical chairs. In the bed, out of the bed ,on the ball then squating. Rolling my hips then not.

At one point very close to the end I opened my eyes to see dh and dd just staring at me. I Burst out laughing. I felt like the mama cow at the state fairs birthing barn and vowed right then and there to boycot the birthing barn from that day on!!

A few minutes later I began moaning ever so softy with each contraction while kneeling at the side of the bed. DD asked if I was alright and I told her I was wonderful because we would have a baby very soon.. She ran to tell her grandma and they all came back in. DS had yet to fall asleep and was crabby so I told them that dd would let grandma and E know the minute dc was born..

A couple minutes later i called the nurse to tell her I wanted to push.. She came in checked me and I was 8-9 and she would call my doc who was sleeping down the hall!!!

I told her I NEEEEDed to push, she told me to wait. I said I CAN't. She told me to pick up my hips as I had gotten into bed and I couldn't move I needed to push so bad. My doc came into the room while I tried not to push, to find the head crowning. She slipped on gown and gloves and with one big push out came our beautiful baby girl!!!!

No drugs, No stiches, Just a happy healthy baby gir!!!

They put her on my chest immed. after birth were dh cut the cord while dd and I gazed at each other. She licked my nipple afew times then nursed a bit. DD got ds and grandma from the other room. They entered right after sophia started to nurse for the first time.. DS who still nurses just looked at her with his mouth gapping open like who is that and what is she doing nursing with my mama... I explained that baby Rosie came out of mamas belly and he now was a big brother (when I was 10 weeks prego he decided we had ababy girl in my belyy and her name was Rosie. He would rub my belly and talk to Rosie multiple times per day. Even though we didn't know she was a girl we knew he had to be right and he was.) He fell in love with her immediatly.

So that how Sophia Rose came into the world. At 7lb 0oz and 20" long at 9:38 pm after only 5 1/2 hours of labor and one push!

She gave us quite the scare at 3 weeks she was hositalized with a fever that turned into bronchiollitis/RSV. The doc on call told us to go the urgent care. I did but they said we don't see babies that young with a fever so they sent us to childrens ED. After a urine cath., a chest xray, 4 attemps for an IV start, and 3attemps for a spinal tap she was admitted. I thought we would go on get weighted be given a tylenol dose and go home. I had 2 CD with me! Wrong! DD was on iv fluids with antibiotics, o2 with deep suctioning every 2 hours and a pulse ox. We were in the hospital for 8 days. The hospital was more than wonderful. Sophie was to weak to nurse for almost a day so they gave me a breast pump and collection containers, breast pads, snacks for the nursing mama ect. The nurses were the best in the world!

So that our story! we now have a beautiful happy healthy baby girl who i perfect in everyway!!!!

What a wonderful story! It is so sweet to hear about the comments of your other children as part of the experience. Thank you so much for sharing your story! I hope your new little one is doing well. So sorry to hear about the RSV. Glad that everything turned out alright after treatment.

Congratulations!
