i know there was a thread about this way back when but i am far too lazy to go look it up! so with that said what do you guys think about listing some of yoyr favs? let's keep in mind though that it will be hot and summery and i'm sure we won't want the oven running up the temp in our homes, kwim?
btw,i don't have any recipes to add

I got one for you, although it does require use of the stove! I made is a couple of days ago, it was pretty good, and supposedly according to Giada de Laurentis (from food network - which I've recently started watching more of) it freezes well! The stuffed shells and pesto on ciabatta was delicious!!

Good luck if you try it, and BTW this recipe will feed your whole family plus some!! So far its fed ds and I three time, dh twice and theres still one more plate in the fridge!!

I've been making lots of extra food with dinner and freezing the extras. So far I have:
Chilli
Chicken noodle soup
Egg noodles with veggies (for early labor)
Tortellini w/sauce
marinated chicken that has been grilled and cut into cubes (to toss on pasta or make quesidillas)

And I plan on making baked macaroni and cheese
Maybe a lasagna
DP's mom is making us some spaghetti sauce to freeze

Does anyone have a great recipe for shepherd's pie? That's what I want--now!--but I'm sure I will also love it post-baby.

I think some kinds only have corn, but I really want shepherd's pie with peas in it, too...

Oh! I'm getting hungry! Darn these threads...

i always did shepards pie with a base of mashed potatoes, peas/carrots/corn mixture, meat and then another layer of mashed potatoes topped with cheese.

thanks for reminding me willo! - that's definitely going on the menu for this week...

Why stop with peas and corn? I add carrots and green beans as well. Use fresh raw ones and they'll steam as they cook, so they're still a little crunchy. Yummy.

I also stock calzones of every kind. Buy or make pizza dough. Fill with cheese and anything else. traditional pizza stuff, roasted veggis, spinach broccoli and chicken, turkey stuffing and cranberry sauce, scrambled eggs and sausage. Once they're assembled, wrap them tightly in plastic wrap or something similar. They go into a cold oven at 375 for 35-45 minutes. Yummy. I don't add sauce because it makes them soggy, I just dip them in sauce once they're done.
