Hi - I can't tell you how happy I am to find you all! I'm only six weeks with my first but have always known I want home birth. My baby sister was born at home and I spend a lot of time in the hospital as younger person so as long as everyone is healthy I have to find a midwife that can perform a home birth. I'm new to this and don't know much about the laws but was told when I called an insurance suggested obgyn that the local hospital no longer has midwives and doesn't support midwife delivery in the hospital because the liability insurance is to high. Any suggestion would be great even if I have do drive a bit. Thank you Ahbra

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! You might want to post this question under "Finding Your Tribe" in the CT section. There are several home birth midwives in CT. I had my daughter with Birth & Beyond and worked for the B&B midwives while I was in grad school. They're wonderful and they take most insurance plans. They're in Madison. 203-318-8884. I had an amazing home birth with them. Would have used them again for my son but I was living in Delaware at the time.
Good luck! PM me if you want more information.
