membranes stripped for the 2nd time

and nada!! It was done yesterday at my appt. The baby's at -2, 2cm, 80% effaced. But, he just doesn't want to come out.

I have to say, it doesn't hurt getting it done, but hurts like a SOB afterwards for a couple hours. He was more aggressive this time, being that I first had it done 1 week ago and nothing happened (obviously).

So, I'm scheduled for an induction on wednesday. I pray to god that I go before then, as I'm not too keen on being induced, but both of my other kids were big, and I'm afraid how much bigger this one is. He originally said for me to go in monday/tuesday, but we negotiated for wednesday night. I'm trying to buy myself more time.

We *still* don't have a name, or a middle name for that matter!!

Oh goodness!! I hope you go into labor today and are able to avoid an induction. I think at my next appt. my midwife is going to strip my membranes too. I'll be a little over 41 weeks.
I'm going to walk, walk ,walk today. I hope it gets things going!! Here is to having our babies very soon!!!!

you know what? If I had to do this over again, I wouldn't have gotten my membranes stripped. It didn't do anything, except made me really crampy and sore afterwards for a few hours. I remember hunching over the kitchen sink a couple times b/c of the pain, and it hurt like hell to walk, or sit upright. My 3 1/2 yo kept worrying about mamma's boo-boo.

I feel like I've tried everything, except the herbal route, other than EPO. I didn't do red razpberry tea or castol oil. But, I"ve been walking a TON, used DH, ate spicy stuff which got my intenstines going, couldn't really get into the nipple playing, and talked and complained to the baby. I tried expressing to him that I am ready for him to come out, but I guess he found a comfy spot in there and refuses to budge.

I hope you walk yourself silly, and irritate the baby so much that he can't stand it!!

that really sucks! Did you talk to your dr about anything else you can try to get things started? Didn't you get your membranes stripped too?

I can't believe we're still here waiting...while may mammas are enjoying their babies...

no, that's right. Haven't you been trying acupuncture? Have you gotten your membranes stripped?

I had mine stripped twice, and nothing. It finally took having my water broken to move on to meaningful contractions.

I have actually done this 2x this week. But I haven't been lucky enough to wake up in labor yet. I really thought I would have had the baby already. Ds was just before his edd so I assumed this one would be too. Guess, this is what I get for making assumptions. So far my walking hasn't done anything to get things going. I guess baby just isn't ready to make a debut yet!! Monday, we sign closing papers on our house we are about to start building. So, I am a little worried about whether or not we will be able to close for sure because the baby hasn't arrived. I get one thing out of the way and another comes up. Dh and I agreed to wait til after the baby was born to close on the house but he is so antsy and went ahead and made the appointment : . Needless to say I am a little annoyed.

Yup I have had my membranes stripped twice, I have had acupuncture (which did give me a few ctx and was totally relaxing but that was it). I have done cottonroot bark, EPO, walking, nipple stim, and sex. Right now I am in a really good place mentally - this baby will come when it comes and I gave myself a date that I was comfortable going to and then I would have a rcs... I still have like 9-10 days till then though and I am hopeful that baby will come before that!

instead of having a rcs, are you able to be induced so you can have your vbac? I"ve never had a csection so I don't know much about it.

I have to say that I've been VERY uncomfortable today. Tons of BH cx with pressure, but nothing worth noting. I'm not even timing them, as I really don't care at this point. If I could go back, I wouldn't have had my membranes stripped for how it made me feel afterwards. I've become extremely irritable, and have started yelling at my kids (after X amount of attempts to get them to stop doing something). I feel so bad, and regret it afterwards, but they don't listen, and my 20 month old is constantly jumping & hitting me in the stomach, biting, head butting, fights me on diapers, and my 3 1/2 yo is always teasing him. I think I"m going to have a breakdown soon. I told DH that I'll be in no hurry to get home from the hospital. I need to get a break from the kids.

My 2 year old has been giving me fits too. I have cried for three days in a row to relieve tention. He is still awake. I should mention he has a cold and isn't feeling great. Wait.... what is that I hear? Nothing.... he has gone to sleep!!!

My 19 mo DD is being a pain in the butt, too - she's usually the easiest kid in the world. I think part of it is her sensing my own frustration level and mirroring it. DH has been helping as much as he can. We're both teachers, and I've been home now for 3 weeks (vacation, then leave) - but he's still working until baby decides to appear. I have dd home with me. My amazing dc provider sent me a note saying she'd take my daughter 2 days a week for free for the summer if I need any time. I may take her up on it this week! I'm sure dd would benefit from a day away from me and with her little friends...

Lots of hugs to all the others out there waiting (im)patiently...
