We went for his first pediatritian visit today and he has almost regained his birth weight at 5 days old! The ped said he will have crossed it by 1wk which means he is breastfeeding really well! I was so nervous about this appt. especially because we have been having a little trouble latching which had us both in tears a few times - but I think we are getting the hang of things now..
his thing now is choking a little when my milk lets down! But finally he latches properly almost each time and my nipples are starting to heal...I am just so proud of him (ok and me) for gaining weight and being nice and healthy! For some reason even sense I was a teen I knew I wanted to BF but was so afraid I would not be able to (unreasonable b/c my mom BF 8 kids - each for 1-3yrs and once 2 at a time!) So who knows where my fear came from!?
Oh well...I am just so happy I had to share! I LOVE my baby - this is just so amazing...my whole world is different and I cannot even remember him not being in my life!
