For those of us waiting patienly (or perhaps not so patiently)

I snagged this from the April DDC. I think it's a really interesting article on the importance of the last few weeks of pregnancy and why we should avoid induction.

It sort of helped ease my mind, even if only for a moment...

Thank you so much for passing that article along! I'm almost 38 weeks and looking for any signs of labor and getting really impatient. I needed to see the things she mentioned as being part of the last weeks of getting ready to have a smooth labor and delivery. Sometimes we forget that there is a perfect plan for everything and we need to stay out of its way!

My bhs are getting more frequent it seems and I'm seeing signs all over the place. It's hard to hear and see other's stories and pics and not long for the day to be here. I just need to relax and know everything is doing just what it needs to make it happen-when it's ready!

Patience!!!
Thanks again! Great info too that we just don't think about.

thanks now i know why i have 2 zits after 9 months of perfectly clear skin. rising hormones as my cervix softens! i guess i should take them as a good sign

i'm having much worse insomnia lately too. i feel like i'm just taking a series of naps at night instead of really sleeping.

That is a great article! Thanks for passing along the link.

My OB said to me the other week that she'd be willing to induce at 39 weeks if I were really uncomfortable! That really surprised me when she said that. I told her that I would have to be really desparate to choose to be induced, knowing the problems it can cause.

I thought the zits were showing up because of too much chocolate ice cream. I'm so relieved to know I wont have to kick that little habit to the curb.

I hear ya on the insomnia thing, too.

Here's a third for acne and insomnia.

I'm forwarding the link to MIL, who was just the other day telling me about a woman we know whose OB scheduled induction on due date, while the woman was hoping to get it moved up. MIL looked at me and said apologetically, "She's a woman who doesn't enjoy being pregnant."

Hmm . . . wonder how she feels about poopy diapers, sleepless nights, 24/7 responsibility for a totally dependent life . . . wonder if there's a medical intervention for all that.
