I am feeling sick to my stomach if I wait longer than two hours to eat. Problem is, nothing sounds good. So, share your favorite healthy snack ideas and maybe we can inspire eachother!

One thing I have been enjoying is smoothies. Frozen fruit, a little bit of pineapple juice and some coconut butter in the blender. Yum!

hard boiled egg with salt.

probably not the most exciting, but it sure is tasty to me! (I'm a protein craver during pg. . . .)

i also enjoy:

handfuls of nuts (at least i did with my prior pg - this time around i am going thru nut withdrawal - we have a nut free house as my oldest son is EXTREMELY allergic to peanut. . .

trail mix (but again, that has nuts, lol) and little bits of chocolate, yum!

some of my recent snacks (since Thursday) included:

strawberries
apple
steamed broccoli with some butter on top
popcorn - freshly popped YUM! (going thru a salt craving big time - seems like weeks 4-10 i crave salty stuff, so i acquiesce where i can, *grin*)

mcdonald's fries - extra salt - you know why their fries are so good? because they soak them in a corn syrup mixture before frying!!!!! always wondered why they tasted so darn good - slightly sweet, yet oh so crispy and salty . . ..

well, i guess i don't eat as well as i thought, lol . .

I can't promise much in the way of 'healthy'... but when my tummy is feeling off I like ginger things, lately the Triple Ginger Snaps and chocolate covered candied ginger from Trader Joes. Today I've been pigging out on strawberries since they're in season here and my granny brought me a flat of them. Nothing like fresh seasonal produce.

I got some chili lime cashews also from TJ's thinking they would be a good snacking thing but they aren't appealing to me right now.

I'm mostly eating crap, but i just got some organic nutribars type things that are yummy....organic granola bars....fruit, various kinds, ......yogurt..........stupid animal crackers......i had an AMY's veggie micro meal thing....and I've been eating out a lot....subs, salads, burgers, fries....sigh.

apples and bananas have been treating me well. i feel like the apples have really turned my nausea around a few times lately. i am trying to eat protein at every meal - chicken and rice is my mainstay right now (with salt... i'm into the salt too, these days). sometimes yogurt, but overall i'm trying to keep the dairy to a minimum. i have hard candy around right now, and will have a piece in a pinch (sour flavors), and it will soothe my stomach until i can get to some food. bread and toast have been good, but i have minimal interest in crackers - although i had a really great fresh avocado with crackers the other day.

Right now I am snacking on Wasa crisps and natural peanut butter mostly. I am hoping to find some inspiration from this thread!

Okay, so I got some crystallized ginger yesterday hoping this would be good to calm my stomach, but yuck! Is the chocolate covered ginger actually tasty? maybe I'll have to look for this.
I had an avocado today sprinkled with parmesan, it was pretty good!

This isn't healthy, but it's not terrible. I find sprite and saltine crackers ease my nausea better than anything else.

Chocolate covered crystallized ginger would probably only be tasty if you like crystallized ginger. Mmmm avocados. That's sounding good and what do ya know... I have both avocados and parmesan!

I tend to crave fruit - the juicier the better - when pregnant.

Although I also go through the salt thing for a few weeks. I had a dream last pregnancy where I was at a casino and you could trade in some - not all mind you - of your chips for *actual* potato chips.

I like toast with cream cheese and avacado. A good multi grain bread adds some protein

Here's mine..

I couldnt live without yogurt, apples and peanut butter, baby carrots dipped in ranch ( I use the packet from the natural food section that doesnt have msg and mix it with plain yogurt). I make peanut butter balls with natural peanut butter, oatmeal and honey. Sometimes I put flax in them. Honey Roasted Sunflower seeds, pumpkin flax granola, lotsa brown rice "slop".. which is just brown rice, refried beans, onion, shredded carrots, green pepper, green onion, corn, rotel & spices with either quorn or chicken (hubby is a veggie), over easy egg with whole wheat toast, haagendaas frozen yogurt with sorbert swirl (so good and only 1.5 grams of fat per serving), diced avocados, tomatoes and red onions with a squirt of lime and salt, Whole wheat crepes with jam, whole wheat french toast with coconut syrup, banana bread with walnuts and apple sauce instead of the oil...

I've been eating a lot of hummus with whole wheat flatbread or Kashi crackers. Also lots of fruit and veggies, and I keep raw almonds and pumpkin seeds in my purse for emergencies.

I can't get enough cottage cheese right now, and it seems to be one of the highest protein foods out there. Easy snack.

I've also been going for the fruit, avocados, and protein like mad. Carrots dipped in guacamole are great....

Raising hand over here- I tried the crystalized ginger and nearly died it was so awful! Yuck! Anyway, I'm enjoying this, especially all the protein suggestions. I really struggle to eat most types of protein and I know we're supposed to . . . so thanks for the ideas. I like stoned-wheat thins (crackers) and cold water with lemon juice dumped in. Something about the acid makes me feel better.
