mucus plug/bloody show...

honestly, i have never been so excited to see something so mysterious and gross coming from my private areas

it was quarter-sized (or maybe quarter and a half) and tinged brown and pink. i have been having some off/on contrax today--wasn't really paying much attention because we were planting a garden.

so the million dollar question is, any clue how much longer till i have this baby? what are your experiences with bloody show and labor?

How exciting!! : With #1, I had nothing until I was pushing. With #2, I had bloody show a couple of hours before labor became well established. From bloody show to holding a baby was about 5 or 6 hours. YAY!

It could be hours or it could be weeks, but in MY experience...

I lost my mucous plug at 7:30 or so in the morning, started having mild contractions at around 1:45 in the afternoon, was in active labor by evening time, and my baby was born at 10:42 pm.

the only time I lost a discernible plug, I had a baby 19 hours later. With most of my clients, I see a baby within about 48 hours. One lady went more than 10 days, though.

update

so i've been having contractions about 5 minutes apart for the last 2 hours...

they're getting stronger but not really super intense yet. i talked to my doula and am supposed to check back in with her soon...

maybe this is it! fingers crossed

How exciting!
With both my daughters, I had gobs of mucous plug and bloody show come out for 2-3 weeks before the birth. It stopped both times about 2 days before birth and nothing more came out til I was giving birth. My cervix opens earlier than most it seems though. *shrug*
This time is still too soon to tell

It's been a while since you posted, so hopefully you are deep in the throes of labor or snuggling your newborn! But to answer your question, I lost my mucus plug about 4 hours before I realized I was in labor. DD was born about 7 hours after that.
