I did a NT-style diet (not perfectly, mind you) for about 9 months before conceiving my baby, and mostly throughout the pregnancy. He (10 days just now) was 9 lbs. even, 21 inches, and is absolutely gorgeous. Very nice bone structure, lots of hair, nice features. I have milk like crazy, and it is very rich and creamy. And he is gaining... almost a full pound in his first week!
It was an easy pregnancy: no morning sickness, little fatigue, plenty of energy, etc. Of all four of my pregnancies, I slept the best during this one, had the most energy, was the best-natured. My Dh even commented on how much easier I was to live with through this pregnancy. I was veg. for all the others. The birth, however, was very hard. Babe presented asynclytic, which made it a challenge to push him out. I have hard births, but his positioning made this one esp. difficult.
I was a little concerned about eating so much fat and meat and whatnot, that I might have a huge baby, but 9 lbs. isn't too bad. I think if his positioning had been better, it would have been much easier.
As far as conception, we conceived without even looking at each other, I think, lol! I really craved fats for several months before conception; during the pregnancy, protein was what I wanted. Lots of beef, eggs, lamb. Fortunately, I have excellent sources for all that, so I just indulged. I noticed that I really didn't crave sweets this time, which was new.
