Mama cloth washing routine?

Mama cloth users, what's your washing routine? And for those of you who CD as well, how does it compare to your CD washing routine?

I use a wetpail, and rinse thoroughly every morning. (also a good rinse before putting into pail) I can go a few days if I need to, or just make a load of laundry. Between towels, 3 peoples clothes, there is always a load that needs to be done. I only CD at night for my potty trained son, so sometimes that makes a full load.

Just toss 'em in, I see no difference!

it's the same as our cd routine. spray off with minishower and toss into wetbag until wash time.

I rinse them off in the sink with hot water during change and then soak in a wet pail with arm and hammer washing soda for a day or two before they all get thrown into the washer.

Last month I tried soaking them and ended up with stains. I bought a few new ones since then and this month I'm just putting them into my pail with the family cloth - dry.

I do wash every other day or so and this time I've had *no* stains.

I sometimes let them soak but I usually just throw them in the cloth TP/diaper bucket and let the washing machine do the work

I rinse mine out in the sink, then toss them in the family cloth bucket (dry pail). They get washed with the diapers every 2-3 days.

I am past the diaper stage. I rinse them in cold water, then soak in a small container of cold water with a bit of tea tree until I need to wash them, ususally I throw them in with towels. It is really important to change the water every other day, they can get smelly.

I soak my pads for several days in a bucket( up to three or four depending on
how bad the stains are ) I use the stained water on my plants as
fertilizer, then refill. I do this each day until the pads are clean enough
to hand wash. I use tea tree oil and a small amount of home made
laundry detergent. I hardly have any stains on my pads because of
this. Be careful not to scrub too hard or it will make your pads rough
by breaking down the fabric.

After rinsing off the extraneous blood, I soak mine with some baking soda dissolved in the water, for the duration of my flow. Once I am done with my periods, I take them out, rinse them lightly and throw them in the washer. They come out without any stains. I use them in conjunction with a Diva cup, so they don't get stained much anyways.

Cold water is much more effective than hot at removing blood. I wash diapers in hot water, pads with my clothes in cold.

I give the pad a quick rinse and wring. Then I put it in an old yogurt bucket, fill that with cold water, put on the lid, and put it aside where my kid can't get into it. Next time I change pads, I take the previous one out of the bucket, dump the soaking water, maybe rinse a little more, wring it out, and put it on the edge of my laundry basket (in the closet) to dry. It's important to let them dry in case I don't do laundry for a few days, because if they sit around damp they get yucky. Next time I'm washing clothes, I put all the pads into a zippered mesh bag (so they don't get lost among bigger things) and put that in the washing machine.
