Stopping by for a sec...an update :)

Hi ladies!

Well...I'm still pregnant.

Only one more day till "edd". Woohoo.

I want to say thankyou SO MUCH to all of the mamas who have read and given me advice and encouragment. I can't tell you all how much it means!

DH and I had a good long talk this past weekend...and while he does not want me to birth at home (he's a scardey cat) he 100% promised me that nothing would happen to me in the hospital that I didn't want. He also said that he didn't even want me to THINK about having another c/s "just because it's past your dd" or an artificial induction. He said babies know when to be born, and if she wants to stay put a while longer, there is a reason for it. I Love My DH.

So at my OB appointment this past Thursday, I had my doc check me (she asked if I wanted to be, I said yes, I was curious!) and I was only 1cm dialated, and my cervix wasn't that far back, but it wasn't "good" either.

How do I go from 3 cms dialated at 30 weeks to 1cm at 39?

She also said if I hadn't "progressed" or delivered by then, then we need to start talking about a "game plan". (We all know what that is!)

So if I have not progressed by then and she wants to induce, what do I say? Can I just say that until the baby shows ____ signs of distress (Say that I'll do all of the NST's and BPP's she wants?) that I want to wait on inducing or scheduling a c/s?

And to all of the other women whose horrible doctors are putting you through this, I am so so sorry, I know exactly how it feels and it isn't a good feeling at all. It's really truly a shame that there are so many OB's out there that think this way.

I have to say that I love your DH. How awesome. Having a supportive partner goes SO FAR in helping you get the birth you want.

As for what to tell the Doc if/when the "game plan" "needs" discussing I'm sure you'll get all kinds of great advice on this thread. Just saying NO to what you don't want and arming yourself with evidence is probably what it boils down to. The ICAN website is LOADED with the research about VBAC stuff and that'd be a great place to get info too.

Good Luck, Thanks for the update--I have been thinking of you
