Mesh Underwear?

Some people buy mesh underwear for their birth kits. Is there some advantage to this? I'm just planning to wear old undies that I won't mind ruining.

I LOVE Mesh Undies! I wanna get some for next time. but, no, not NEEDED! : I think part of the reason I liked them so much is they're HIGHLY comfy on a post surgical belly. And I won't be having one of those next time! But I think I may still look into some...REALLY comfy! :

Not needed, but I did like them because I don't have alot of underwear and I did find them comfy. I liked them better than depends.

I also love the mesh undies. They look awful but work wonderfully

They are just so terribly sexy . I agree it is the comfort issue. No binding or rubbing.

I'm plus sized and I HATE the mesh undies. I got 1-2 pair in my birth kit too and they will just go to waste, I rather wear old undies anyday!

I never had them. I bought bigger sized underwear for the postpartum period, but I didn't even use those, I was in my maternity underwear while in the first few day PP, then back to my victoria secrets low-cut bikini.

never had them, never missed them. My maternity undies were dead sexy enough to sacrifice for anything my PP pads didn't catch.

They gave me mesh underwear in the hospital. It was so awful and uncomfortable that I just used my normal pregnancy panties (I'm plus-sized, though). Much better... and much easier to attach a pad to normal underwear with a crotch. Mesh underwear is a waste, IMHO... unless one is thinking of sexy post-pregnancy mesh underwear.

Someone here at MDC recommended the Depends disposable undergarments, so I used those last time. They were much better than the mesh panties, and they absorb and don't chafe you. They worked out great!

I had one pair of mesh undies my mw gave me last time. I loved them and was bummed I didn't have more than one. So I'd wash them out and wring them out constantly so I could keep wearing them. Super comfy. I thought they were easy to attach a pad too.

So I ordered 3 more for this time. One of my must-haves.

I thought they were very comfortable! In fact I ran them through the wash last time so I have that pair, plus two new pair in my birth kit. I loved them immediately postpartum. I think it's just whatever you prefer.

Where do you order them from? I'd like a few pair for the messy days.

Loooooved those. Enough to make a special trip to the homecare supply store to get more! Comfy, disposable, breathable, good.

A friend ordered hers from In His Hands - http://www.inhishands.com/ . Our MW provides the birth supplies, but she ordered the panties, some of the ice-pack pads, sitz bath herbs, etc.

I tried to tell myself they looked kind of like something Gidget would wear.

I loved them last time and plan to get some for this birth, too. Not attractive in the least, but soooo comfy.
