Movie Errors

Have you ever caught a movie error? This weekend we were watching The Queen and at one point an officer tells her to go so many miles...um shouldn't it have been kilometers since they are in England?

Anyone else?

I rarely pick up on that kind of detail, but I do enjoy looking at the "goofs" section on IMDB.com. Try looking up that movie and see if they mention the goof you found. That one really seems like a dumb one too, heh-- an entire movie crew and nobody caught that?

I like the topic

We use both km and miles in the Uk.

I'd say we're more comfortable with miles actually, and most signs state the distance in miles not km.

Things may be different for this generation as the EU is trying to shift us to Km and kilos not miles and pounds but so far we aren't quite so comfortable with km as our continental cousins.

I occasionally check that kind of stuff out on imdb. It makes a movie you have seen over and over again a lot more interesting.

I never notice anything but my dh picks up on them all the time.

For example: In one of the Die Hard movies Bruce Willis is making a phone call from an airport payphone that is supposed to be on the East Coast. The phone has the Pacific Bell logo on it.

Oooo my favorite topic. Sometimes an error takes me right out of the movie and ruins it for me. Sometimes, it's just funny seeing the error and wondering if the director/editing dept even cared!

I'd love to work in continuity but it's a hellish job. I don't think I could handle the pressure.
