When Did Your Braxton-Hicks Start??

Thread Starter
This is my third pregnancy and I'm at about 31 weeks. With my other two pregnancies, I really didn't start having strong Braxton-Hicks up until the last month before I gave birth. This pregnancy, they are very strong very early on (for me). My other two pregnancies were boys... and this little baby is supposed to be a girl, if that matters.

I just have a feeling that she may be showing up sooner than planned. BTW, my other two came at 39 weeks... but I was 8 weeks premature myself.

I am always very last minute with things.. I was packing for the hospital at about 5 cms dilation with my second... the morning of with my first. But, I'm actually thinking about putting together a bag now. So unlike me.

Mine started at 18 weeks with DS, LOL. Maybe they were just more noticeable since I don't carry fat in my stomach area (it's in my thighs instead) so there wasn't any fat covering my uterus. DS also moved like crazy, which seemed to trigger them.

Mine started early too around 18 week also. I don't know why but I was like that with both DSs.

I don't realy know when they started, but I finally recognized them for what they are around the 4th month.

Mine started in the first trimester, pretty early on, but I don't remember which week.

Mine started with this pregnancy around 18-20 weeks, I'm about 33 weeks now. They occur less frequently if I stay really hydrated. I thought I drank a lot of water with my last baby, but I'm drinking nearly double the amount now. Overdoing it (picking up my toddler, playing too hard outside (running/chasing balls), overzealous housecleaning, etc tend to trigger them-also this munchkin is already head down and the feet up in my ribs all the time seems to trigger them as well.

For me-the nesting kicked in WAY earlier-I spent some serious time with my vacuum last weekend which NEVER happens!!

Mine started at about 16 weeks. I am almost 22 weeks now, and I feel them very irregularly, but at least 2x a day. BH can start as early as 6 weeks.

I never felt any at all with my first son but this babe I feel them all the time, probably since around 5 months along or so, maybe sooner. I think my uterus is pissed off about how things went down last time and is doing all it can to ensure it's in tip top shape Well that's my theory anyway

Im on #3 also and I started with noticable ones around 12 weeks! I was still nursing, though...after I weaned around 16 weeks they basically ceased. Im about 33 weeks now and they have been hard core for the last week or so...maybe 2.

18 wks with DS (born full-term)
15 wks with this one.
I think you're totally normal. They supposedly come earlier with each pregnancy.

With both of my babies, the BH started becoming noticable around 24weeks.
Both girls were born at 40w 6d

About 15 weeks for me, consistently and strongly enough that my OB thinks if my uterus had feet it would be about ready for a decathlon by now. Definitely one of those "it's different for everyone" kind of things ... I don't think earlier or later is really an indication of when one can expect to give birth.

18 weeks, he was born at 36 weeks + 3 days

Well maybe mine is too, I felt the first BH at 13 weeks this time, after I lifted my toddler into a shopping cart. Never knew they could start THAT early, but all is going well still (almost 36 weeks now). And yes, this babe is very lively too, my previous one was (and still is) the more tranquil type
