Pregnant and have an abcess

My tooth started hurting this past weekend and became unbearable, pain spreading to most of my entire mouth. So I went to the dentist and they sent me to the oral surgeon. He numbed my mouth (heavenly relief I tell ya!) and gave me two prescriptions (one for pain one for infection). He said I need a root canal, so I made an appointment for the next available date -which isn't until June 7th.

My problem is I'm over 40 weeks pregnant right now and the painkiller he prescribed is Darvocet. I asked him if it's safe during pregnancy and he said yes, and I asked 2 pharmacists and they also said yes. Still, I checked online and now things say don't take in the last 3 months of pregnancy.

I NEED to take something. This pain is unreal and I don't know how to handle it. I've been taking Tylenol today to help, and using numbing gels, but they only do so well for a certain length of time.

Has anyone here taken Darvocet near the end of their pregnancy? What happened? Would you do it again? Why or why not? Any advice on how to make the pain more bearable? Thanks!

That sounds horrible. I'm sorry you have to deal with this right now. I don't have any advice, but
