My husband is so wonderful.
Last night the babe got up around 3am and fed, then cried and cried and cried. We burped him, we changed his wee bum, burped him some more, and when I offered him the breast again he just screamed at it. I tried walking with him, but I was so sleep deprived that I nearly fell. At this point, my beloved took the baby and said "Maybe he just feels awake and wants the light on so he can see" and I started to cry because all I wanted to do was sleep. Then my husband says "Go back to sleep babe, I'm going to take him out to the livingroom." He left, and I laid down fully expecting for them to be back in a few minutes because the baby was crying.
Several hours later I wake up to find my husband asleep next to me and the baby sound asleep in the bassinet on my side of the bed. This morning I asked my husband how long he was up, he said that he and Gabriel played for a good hour, then Gabriel started doing big yawns so Phil snuggled him to his chest until he fell asleep.
AND Phil got up with our older son and got him off to school, letting me, our toddler and the baby sleep in. So this morning I actually feel rested and able to cope with the world.
Yep, I love that man!
