MMR Reaction? I need advice ASAP!

Thread Starter
I have a dayhome, and a DHB was vaxed last week, mmr and chicken pox.*edited to say that he was vaxed last wednesday evening* Today, he has a pinpricky rash all over his face and belly. He's not running a temp so far. I haven't noticed any other symptoms. What should I do? Should I wait until he starts running a temp or the rash spreads to send him home, or should I just send him home now?

Please help me out, I'm really worried about it.

Rash is a very common reaction after the MMR. I'm sure he will be fine, although it's possible that he might be shedding virus, but that could be the case whether he had symptoms or not. I would call his parents.

Sounds like he either has rubella or measles.

Oh, no, no no Angela . . . when you get measles or rubella from the live MMR vaccine, they call it "measles-like rash" or "rubella-like rash."

My dd got the "measles-like rash" : after her MMR. The nurse actually told me that it was a very mild form of measles when I called in worried about it.

Gee whiz. How dumb does the medical profession think people are to believe that? Maybe they are so used to saying that that they actually come to believe it themselves.

It's a sad but true reality that for many people I know, the ped's word is unquestionably the truth. For them. It's sad.

I find it so sad that children are still being vaccinated despite all the readily available information about all the reasons why vaccinating children is not a good thing. So it looks like we are going to be living in the dark ages for a bit longer. When is this nonsense going to STOP!
