Flouride Treatment for 6 year old?

I'm not really that informed about flouride, but I'm wondering whether there is any reason to delay a flouride treatment? I called to make an appointment for my 6 year old's checkup, and they said she'd probably get flouride this time. I told them I'd prefer not to this time, since the appointment is in 2 days and I would like to do some research first.

Does anyone have information about any reasons not to have flouride treatments done?

I am imagining this is the tray they fill with flavoured flouride and it sits in your mouth for a while then is rinsed.

IMO, there is every reason to delay fluoride treatments indefinitely. Fluoride is poison. Here are some links for you:

I TOTALLY agree with the PP - flouride is POISON! Bad, stay away! Read the links she offered. Noone NEEDS it. It is, LITERALLY, poison - as in it meets the very defanition!
