I recently obtained a back issue of a Mothering Magazine that featured a paralized woman who gave birth agt home. After reading this, I thought "Hey, if she can do that, I can in the future!".
I don't plan on having any more kids for a while, but I was wondering if anyone has had a homebirth and have been on Mediciad for insurance? Do they normally cover homebirths, or would I be forced to go to a hospital?
I had my first child in the hospital and hated ever minute of it. I couldn't sit upright in my wheelchair, I couldn't have someone hold my up to squat the baby out, the OB/GYN insisted that he do an episiotomy becuase I was a first time mom (I threatened to sue him, so he didn't do that cut, thank goodness). I had my second daughter in a free-standign birth center and really liked it, but didn't like having to drive all the way there. If I have another kid, I want to have it at home, where I'll be more relaxed.
Any help on insurance stuff would be great!
