She's Earthside!!!

Wow!

Our beloved daughter, Akasha (still thinking of middle name) came to us Monday night May 7 @ 11:39pm... all that lovely practice labor did it's magic and I had about 4 hours of truly powerful and sacred active labor. It was perhaps the best experience of my life. DD weighs 8.5 pounds and we co-birthed with no guidance whatsoever, and under the stars I caught her in my hands.

I'll post a birth story soon. I did tear some during the birth, and post partum is focusing on healing me up. (I welcome all positive thoughts around this, as it is feeling very challenging for me.) We are nestled in bed, I am keeping my legs closed and doing lots of comfrey sitz baths, and we are just coddlng and falling ever more deeply in love with Akasha.

All day long I had the strongest feeling that you had already birthed! I came here several times looking for your post, knowing that you would have had a beautiful homebirth. So many congrats on your daughter.

Sending lots of positive healing vibes!

Oh congratulations, I was wondering if things were happening.

As for postpartum healing, just hang in there, things will improve before you know it. I tore a bit with my daughter, and it was difficult to sit/stand/etc. for a week or two, but before long I felt more or less totally back to normal.

I love the gorgeous name you have chosen! Enjoy your babymoon! :

Yay!!!

I am so happy for you!! Yey!! You did it!!

Congratulations to you and Todd! :

Please let me know when you're ready for phone calls. I also have a few things I've been collecting for you and the baby that I'd like to give you. I could give them to Alexa if she will see you soon.

Great job! And a side note - honey compresses may help with healing. It's what many midwives recommend.
