aargh baby acne

I hate her cheeks with the baby acne on it! I'm hoping she gets rid of it soon!

my son's didn't get very bad, but he has had one for a few weeks. I want to pop it SO bad. I haven't, but I want to.

Mine had gorgeous perfect skin. Until last week.
Now she's got little pimples that come and go. I don't mind them too much though, I find they look like freckles!!

We have tons here too....not w/heads but lots of red dots that get worse and then fade.

DS has had his little baby acne problem for 2 weeks now. It's finally starting to get better, though. It sucks, though, between that and him constantly scratching his face he looks like an emo teenager

we've go it here too, worse when she's hot, which is most of the time here unfortunately. I want it to go away and send back the perfect smooth skin that was there before.

My son has baby acne and cradle cap creeping down into the acne. It is starting to clear up but he has been a scaly spotty mess. My daughter has had beautiful clear skin until just this last week and now she is getting acne.

Belle has it too. The Ped said to use Hydrocortizone 1% on her neck and chest and to wipe her face 2 X's a day with a clean warm wash cloth (no soap). It is starting to look better.

Hydrocortisone cream for baby acne? Yowsers! i use just plain water and a washcloth. it also goes away on its own.

Sophia's is now just starting to clear up. Every day it's getting better. All that we did was give it time (and just the normal day-to-day washings.)

Do any of your LOs have the acne all over their backs/chests?

I used to think what DD has on her back/neck/chest/upper arms was some sort of rash, but it actually matches the acne bumps on her face. I switched her detergent and was starting to think it could be a reaction to someting in my diet, but it's not on the lower half of her body....and switching detergent doesn't seem like it's affected it. I'd be pleased if her "rash" is just acne.

Mine has tiny skin color bumps on her chest... Like fine sandpaper. I don't know if that's what you mean?? I was thinking the heat was causing it...

As for the acne, I'm not sure I'd put cortisone cream on a newborn... I'd be scared about it! I find romi's acne comes and goes, even throughout the day!! Worst in the morning it seems, and disappears through the day.

I read through these posts and I can relate...my handsome boy has it all over his face. Then as I read I remember dd had it too and we used glaxalbase on her and it cleared. I'll have to pick some up when I go retrieve the older boy from school.

DS's comes and goes. Now that it is warm he seems to get it and it stays. We received a sample of Aquaphor and it has worked miracles. Other than that warm water and a cloth seemed to keep it under control.

My second child had bumps like this, still does, but not very noticeably anymore (she's 5 yrs.). She has extremely sensitive skin. I've always had to use the perfume- and dye-free detergents, only 100% cotton clothing, etc. She reacts to chlorine in the water (fortunately, we have well water), chemicals in clothing, etc.

Hopefully, your child won't have similar issues, but if she does, look for environmental triggers, and supplement with cod liver oil. Those things have helped my DD enormously. She can tolerate much more now than she could even 18 months ago.

Back to the acne issue: my midwive's have always said that the acne lasts approximately from 2 weeks to 2 months, and that it will clear up on its own.

Peeking in from elsewhere... I would just like to reassure all the mothers here that this is almost always the case. My daughter had very noticeable baby acne that came and went but cleared up completely by the time she was two months old. (She is almost six months old now).
