Can you have contractions in this pattern - big ctx at regular intervals with smaller ctx here and there in between that are not at regular intervals?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

From my experience (2 babies so far), you can have ctx in ANY pattern! I never had the "textbook" ctx pattern in either labor - not even by the end! I would have a strong one...then a more Braxton-Hicks feeling one...they'd be anywhere from 3 minutes to 15 minutes apart, never in a consistent pattern...and my girls still came out

i agree with pp. my labor with ds2 was completely different than my labor with ds1 (both were at home, started on their own...) i didn't even think i was in labor this time around b/c the ctx were so irregular and so different than what i had experienced b/f.
hope your baby's comin soon!

looks like your question was already answered but just thought I would add my 2cents worth....
With dd2 my contractions were not regular either(dd1 I was induced, so I did know what "real" contractions felt like) I didn't think I was in labor because they were anywhere from 2-10 mins apart and varied in intensity...I would take the contractions that lasted longer over the short ones any day!
The longer ones would build and it would give me time to "work" into them but then one would come along and it would come on all of a sudden and it would be SUPER intense, it would only last about 30 seconds but BOY! those suckers HURT!
Hoping you meet your babe soon!!
